It’s was so good to see an elite rider making themselves available for the kids, (and adults) and being super down to earth. Barry Nobles, a true ambassador to the sport.

You are our go to for training and technique tutorials, watching lots of your videos. This is especially important to us due to not having access to coaches in our local area here in Australia, and only get coaching when we are fortunate enough to have a coach visit the club, with the closest being more than 4 hours drive away.
We have to change the way we do things, and the Family Fiv5 racing crew have to put up with “SuperDave” (Dad) doing the coaching.

It was awesome to meet Barry and say hi, and for Callum to see someone that is short and still able to match it with the best.
Callum also being short, it gives him some encouragement that he will be able to close the gap to the other boys in his class if he puts in the effort.

We have taken a couple of days to travel over 1,900 km home from Brisbane.
Leaving Saturday morning, spending time and staying with family at Coffs Harbor. (Thanks guys, it was great catching up)
Early Sunday morning moving further down the coast to spend the arvo with friends at Tumbiumbi and and a staying over night.

This morning was a 5am rise that had us packed and on the road before 6am, getting us through Sydney before the traffic was gridlocked.

A couple of fuel stops along the way and grabbing a bite to eat at Wagga we traveled all day covering just under 1100km today, we rolled into home at 6:25pm tonight
Unpacked the very over loaded car having a bite to eat for tea and the it’s bed, so everyone can be ready for work and school tomorrow.

The overloaded Mazda 6 MZRCD (Diesel) got us there and back with out an issue, and even with an average fuel economy of less than 8L/100km, loaded up with all the bikes, 5 people and all of our gear for the 2 weeks.

The FFR (FamilyFiv5 Racing) bike rack (Version 2 prototype) made it possible by holding securely for all of the bikes for more than 4000km trip. Allowing easy access to the boot, zero frame contact, BMX specific wheel cradle design and easy loading and unloading, it has been a game changer for us.

What a hectic week it was. So proud of everyone’s efforts, and despite the immense disappointment with the scheduling and qualifying situation.

Claire is still very sore, but mostly seems ok, with further checkups to come now we are home again.

Next will be to find a new Speedco carbon Pro XL frame as a replacement for hers that was destroyed when it was struck by another rider ofter Claire’s crash. Very unfortunate and should have been prevented.

Anyway, we are all great fuel for a safe trip and all the fun and experiences we have had over the last 2 weeks.

Claire is being assessed by the medics, she was assisted off the track so hopefully not too serious.

Well done to our fellow Mildura Storm BMX rider, Frosty, who has progressed to the 1/8 finals. Congratulations, go get them.

1/4 finals locked in with a 4th in Moto 3.
That is officially top 32 riders in the world in the 14 girls age group.
