This is what 5:30pm will feel like. 🀎

Tucked under a blanket. Eyes covered. Sound bowls washing over you while your body finally, finally gets to stop.

This is Slow Reform, my new Wednesday evening class. Restorative, reformer-based movement paired with a sound bath, 45 minutes, designed to undo your entire day before you walk back out into it.

Soft-launching in August. Doors open properly in September. Only 5 spots.

She came in. I looked down. Full cankle. Fresh ink. πŸ˜…

We didn't skip a beat.

That's the thing about knowing your clients, when something changes, we know how to execute what they need.

DM me "tattoo" if you want to know what we did instead πŸ‘‡

Three a.m. Wide awake. Mind racing. Again.

You've tried the magnesium. The sleep teas. The next thing your feed swore would fix it.

And maybe it helped, a little. But you're still lying there some nights, wondering why your own body feels unfamiliar.

Here's what I've seen, week after week, in my studio: it's not just your hormones fighting you. It's your nervous system stuck switched on and no supplement can switch it back off.

So that's exactly what we work with in my sessions. Nervous system safe movement, real joint mobility, breath that actually slows your body down, not just for the hour you're with me, but so it remembers how to do it on its own.

One of my clients told me last week, "I slept like a baby, ten hours straight. I haven't slept ten hours in forever. My mind was actually clear." πŸ₯Ή

That's not magic. That's what happens when your nervous system finally feels safe enough to switch off.

This is what I do differently here. Not another quick fix a body and mind that finally feel like they're on your side again.

You used to be able to stand up without your hips complaining first.

Eight hours in a chair does something to a body tight hips, a back that's stiff before you've even left the office, the lunchtime walk that helps for about an hour.

Here's what's actually happening: your hips haven't just gotten "tight." They've stopped moving through their full range, because they haven't had to.

In my sessions we retrain that every direction, every week so your body remembers how to hold you up without complaint.

You lit the candle. Rolled out the mat. Closed your eyes. Now what? πŸ•―οΈ

Mind still racing. Grocery list, unsent email, did you lock the back door. Very relaxing.

Here's the truth nobody puts on a candle label: you can't meditate your way out of a nervous system that's stuck switched on.

Everyone talks about food, exercise, and sleep. Almost nobody talks about the hidden fourth element quietly running the whole show in the background cortisol.

It amplifies your aches. Holds your nervous system to ransom. And convinces your brain that the safest thing to do is stop moving altogether.

That's the opposite of true. Lying still doesn't switch cortisol off. The right kind of movement does.

This is exactly what I've built Slow Reform around an actual space, with the time and the tools, to teach your nervous system it's safe to switch off.

Coming soon. Wednesday evenings, 5:30pm

I've got a text. πŸ˜‚

One of my clients sent me this after a gym session and I haven't stopped smiling about it.

"Apparently of 3 people on the treadmill I have the perkiest bum."

Of course you do. You do Pilates with me. 😜

This is the bit nobody tells you about reformer Pilates yes, it's rehab-friendly, yes, it's nervous-system-safe, but it also just... works. In the ways you don't expect, and definitely in the ways that make you laugh.

Here's the bit that actually matters though. You can't load a glute properly through a hip that's stuck. If your joints aren't moving well, you can't load them well, no matter how many squats you do. We spend so much time on the reformer restoring mobility hips, pelvis, lower back because that's what lets you load heavier and better. The glutes get the compliments. The joint mobility work is what made the loading possible.

So yes, it's rehab-friendly and nervous-system-safe. Turns out that's also exactly how you build a bum people notice on the treadmill. πŸ˜‰

3 years ago Megan walked through the door for her first class. Today she's basically Many Sands royalty πŸ‘‘

I asked her a few questions, some cheeky, some real, and honestly her answers made me tear up a little (don't tell her).
