Melbourne Wolves fought hard all the way to the Grand Final, finishing as runners-up after a brilliant tournament. While we fell just short of lifting the trophy, reaching another final is an achievement we’re extremely proud of.

🌟 Damith led the way with the bat, piling on the runs throughout the tournament and delivering when the team needed him.

🔥 Fazli was outstanding with the ball, consistently picking up wickets and playing a massive role in our run to the final.

Our journey as a team goes back further than the Wolves name. Having won numerous trophies as the Eagles, we formed Melbourne Wolves last year to begin a new chapter. In a short period of time, we’ve already reached two Grand Finals — a great sign of what this group is building.

The stage is set for the biggest showdown of the season as Melbourne Wolves take on Melbourne Sixers in the MPL Grade 1 Grand Final.

melbwolvescricket Rd2: Pure domination by the Wolves against the Shaheens. Wolves won the toss and opted to bat first, in 20 overs Wolves made 4/265. Imran Laghmani (20 off 7) and Mustafa Nader (40 off 22) set the tune with intent. In the middle Damith Parera (110 off 48) an unbelievable show of pure class through his ton and carried the innings through the end. Damith was well supported by Saad Khattak (37 off 24) and Kanishk (38 off 15). Another dominant bowling performance by Wolves again bowling opposition out for 85/10 in 16 overs. A standout bowling performance by Ahmadullah Fazli 3/7 off 3 overs.

Rd 1- Wolves won the toss and opted to bat. An ideal power play effort from Imran Laghmani 25(15), Shobit Singh 36 (22) and Damith Pererra 50(33) with the top order laying foundations for Wolves. Tahsinullah Sultani 49(23) and Ghairat Mangal 27(15) solidified the finish to the innings by doing what they do best by smashing the Star cricket clubs bowlers all around the park.

Wolves wrapped up the game with firey spell at the top by Ahmadullah Fazli 3/16 crippling oppositions in form top order. Well supported by rest of the bowling unit by restricting the opposition to 173/8 in 20 overs.

The Wolves became part of the first ever Victorian Championship T20 Comp, started 3 weeks ago our first Winter Cricket competition for 2026.

It’s been a tough start, losing two closely fought games and winning one quite comfortably in 3 games.

Tomorrow we will be up against another tough opponent in Sahara Chargers at Keeley Park Clayton.
