Rock bottom..&..Hope..can co-exist when it comes to the Bombers.

No secrets or bypassing, we’re in the mud right now it’s true, but, just as in life, if you choose to see evidence of hope, you will, and that’s how I plan to tackle the rest of this season.

In a few months we’ll have a new coach, with new ideas and a new direction, new assistant coaches and a whole heap of new talent to welcome through the door.

We have literally no idea what the future holds or what the next chapter will be, so until then then only choice is to focus on what we do have, and that’s a heap of young talent 🤩🤩

Training rd 18: 🦁

Calders & Reid training freely and fully after having scans this week.

Robbo & Clarke both looked sharp and ready to come in to the seniors this week.

McKay trained forward and Jones back. Langford also trained fully in defense.

Lots of voice and stern conversations were had sporadically around today - sign of life..

No Gerryn again. Edwards, May, Martin & Fiorini all completed big running loads. Ridley ran laps only.

Unwin & Johnson both did most of the session & likely to return in the VFL this week or next.

The sun came up…we keep moving ☀️

Keep clocking up the games for these 6 - another in the bag today ✔️ taking the total games for them altogether to 3.

Can confirm we are talking to a whole host of players behind the scenes. These two in particular are interesting prospects - what are your thoughts? We have lots gaps, I can think of many they both fill, but are there others that need more attention?

The wind was biblical today and veryyy fresh 🥶

Only Langford, Martin, Edwards and Fiorini were confined to the rehab group. No Gerryn showing.

Big Two-metre moved beautifully again. If I had to guess, I’d expect him back on Sunday, but I dare say spending most of his time inside 50 as he returns from that PCL injury

Cillian Burke keeps catching my eye. He’s clearly embracing a bit of that run-with role ala Mullin from the Cats and today he was making life tough for Sully Robey who definitely noticed him 🤭 haha. He also spent plenty of time connecting with some of the younger boys 🥰

Essendon’s 2027 NGA prospect Mustafa Darwish joined the session today - he’s had a really solid start to the year for the Calder Canons playing as a goal-kicking mid!

Jones was training in defence again & Prior on the wing. Archie Roberts trained fully in the fluoro non-contact cap.

Its helpful to remember at this stage of the season training is less about all-out intensity and more about sharpening structures, decision-making and ex*****on – or at least TRYING to 🤪
