The Netball Project

𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲𝟬𝟳𝟬𝟱)

So, you may (or not) have noticed that I don't often do a weekly report anymore; but last night's senior training — and everyone who was part of it — needs some recognition! 👏🏼

First up, we had a HUGE group 🤪 which was made up of 14 seniors, and 10 juniors!

This group of juniors included two new invitees, 🇰🇭 Melisa (9) and 🇰🇭 Hongling (9), who were specifically invited based on their impressive performance and positive attitude at their junior practice in the morning.

With this, we were able to run two courts side by side for the first time EVER! 🤩 One being our usual senior sweat sesh, and the other, our passionate group of juniors who returned for a second practice, and were brilliantly led by my wingman, Coach Justin. 🫡

In the meantime, I startled 😳 some of the seniors with a fancy 'Knee Prep Warm-Up' from NETFIT's resource library; it included some dynamic stretching, jumps, plyo work, and sprints. 🏃🏽‍♀️ We followed that up with some good ol' 'Four Corners', and then prepared to play!

In the seniors today, we also had Melisa's mother 🇰🇭 Ty finally make her long awaited debut! She's a fast learner, and she's feisty on court, so she's an exciting addition to our squad, and one to watch progress. 😉

But back to the two courts — I must say, I had a real moment when I glanced over, and saw another full court (albeit Fast5) playing next to us. It reminded me of the way it is at dedicated netball venues across Australia (which sometimes can have 12 or more courts playing at once, such is the participation rate down under). It is what I grew up with, so it is very special to see it start to unfold here! 🥰

Anyway, this sweet moment was topped off by some exceptional teamwork — and I'm not talking about on the court, but more so, off the court...

Many hands make light work, and that was evident today, with the help everyone showed in packing up... the four goal posts, weight bags, plastic markers, two ball bags, equipment bag, bibs et al. So, I really want to acknowledge that, and say a BIG, THANK YOU! 🙏🏼 It didn't go unnoticed, and is much appreciated! ⭐️

What an awesome community we are!

Okay, I'm off to wash some bibs, as with more courts, comes more washing!

Meet the Dads of !

These active fathers recently stepped out onto the court for our first Daddy-Daughter session. As expected, there were smiles and laughter abound, as well as some impressive skills and moves on show! 🙌🏼

Happy Father's Day to all our ! 🥳 Thank you for supporting netball, and most importantly, thank you for supporting your daughter's participation in sport. 🙏🏼🏐
