🖐️Do it anyway is going to be my favourite thing about this whole week.
👏Give yourself some flexibility while still making movement a regular part of your week. That could be a ten-minute session, a walk or two short strength workouts when you can fit them in.
Or even going a mums focused strength and stability functional training class like us at Fit For 2.
You deserve self care and you deserve to look after you 💞
❤️This is a version of movement you can actually keep.

🖐️This week is Women's Health Week and this year's theme is three words I want every mum reading this to hold onto: DO IT ANYWAY.
❤️🩹It's about taking the small step toward your health even when the day is full, when you're tired and when the conditions are nowhere near perfect. It's the walk you almost talked yourself out of, the glass of water, the ten minutes that you didn't think were worth it, you do it anyway and it adds up.
❤️🩹Today's focus in the campaign is on how you fuel yourself and as a mum this one runs deep, because so many women spend the day making sure everyone else has eaten and reach the evening running on not much at all.
❤️🩹When you’re busy looking after everyone else, it’s easy to forget about feeding yourself properly. But you need food and energy too, especially on the days when there’s a lot going on.
👉We're following the week's themes day by day, moving through fuelling, movement, rest, mental wellbeing and connection.

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Fit For 2 💜
Today we celebrate the incredible dads, stepdads, dads-to-be, granddads and father figures who love, support, encourage and strengthen their families every single day.
And we also acknowledge the amazing single mums who are carrying both roles and doing an incredible job. 💗
Your love builds confidence.
Your strength creates security.
Your support helps your family thrive.
To all the wonderful men who stand beside the mums and little ones in our Fit For 2 community — thank you for everything you do, often quietly and behind the scenes.
Here’s to strong families, supported mums and little ones who grow up surrounded by love. 💜

👋There's so much women go through during pregnancy and postpartum that doesn't get talked about enough.
👉The exhaustion that hits harder than you expected.
👉The body that feels unfamiliar.
👉The questions you're almost embarrassed to ask.
👉And sometimes, just not feeling quite like yourself.
🙌I'm Anita, a midwife and the founder of Fit For 2. I've spent years supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the months and years that follow — and the more I do, the more I see how much it matters to feel genuinely supported, not just given a checklist.
❤️You don't need to have it all figured out. You just need a place to start.

3 Things Your Body Needs After Birth 🤱✨
Postpartum recovery takes time, patience, and the right support. As your body heals and adjusts to life with your new little one, prioritizing basic nutritional and hydration needs can make a world of difference in how you feel each day.
Here are 3 essential building blocks to focus on during your postpartum journey:
💧 1. Water
Staying hydrated is crucial for your overall recovery, aiding tissue repair, and supporting healthy milk production if you’re breastfeeding. Keep a water bottle nearby and sip consistently throughout the day.
😴 2. Magnesium
Magnesium plays a key role in muscle relaxation, nervous system support, and encouraging rest. It can help ease post-birth muscle aches and support better quality sleep during those short, precious rest windows.
⚡ 3. Electrolytes
Replenishing essential minerals like sodium, potassium, and magnesium helps maintain your energy levels, fluid balance, and cellular function—especially vital during those physically demanding early weeks.
Remember, taking care of yourself is an essential part of taking care of your baby. Give your body the patience and nourishment it deserves! 💗

Breastfeeding can help with postpartum weight loss, but it doesn’t automatically make the weight “fall off.” 💗
Breastfeeding uses extra energy—roughly 400–500 calories per day for many women, depending on milk production and feeding frequency. However, several things influence how much weight actually comes off:
🤱 Breastfeeding itself: increases energy expenditure, but the effect on weight varies considerably.
🍽️ Appetite: breastfeeding can make you much hungrier, so some of those extra calories may be replaced through food.
💤 Sleep deprivation: poor sleep can increase hunger and make fat loss harder.
🏋️♀️ Muscle and activity: rebuilding strength and gradually returning to exercise are important for body composition.
🧬 Hormones: prolactin and other postpartum hormonal changes can influence appetite and fat storage.
⏳ Time: the body needs time to recover from pregnancy and birth. Weight loss is usually gradual rather than immediate.
And importantly: eating too little while breastfeeding isn't the answer. Your body needs adequate energy, protein, fluids and nutrients to recover and produce milk.
For mums, “recover first, rebuild strength, then let body composition change gradually” rather than chasing the scale in those early months.
“Breastfeeding burns calories—but breastfeeding isn't a weight-loss program. Your postpartum body needs nourishment, recovery and strength.”
