Well we’re back at our home ground and already rockin’n’rollin’. 1 tenth off PB first session. Gotta be happy with that!!

Well, it’s on again but for ten hours this year instead of the usual six. Great day yesterday with the HSVOC McBuilt Motorsport team. All cars went really well and has been a great experience. The VY seems rock solid. Wonderful to have on board as well. Six more hours today.

It’s been a while since we were last at this circuit, 2018 I think. Enjoying the day with mates. Perfect day for it and a few tweaks to the car have made a huge difference since the last meeting.

As mentioned earlier, not overly happy with my fastest time. A lot to learn with the new set up but by geez she's fun to drive.

Well, it was great to be back at SMSP (our home ground) on sunday for Round 2 of the NSW Supersprints. https://www.facebook.com/supersprintnsw

The McBuilt Motorsport Car, after a couple of years of on again, off again so far as the track time goes, has now finally had the whole drive completely rebuilt from the engine through to the differential and hubs. Final power at the rear wheels 400hp, up from about 300hp.

If I'm honest, I was disappointed with the times on Sunday but thats on the lack of talent, not the car. My PB is about a 1:48 and I was only able to get to about 1:50 however, it was a completely different animal to drive and the last thing I wanted to do was damage any of the new works by over driving it or worse still, put it into a wall while still relearning it. It was a lot more tail happy than it had been previously and it will take a bit to get that sorted with my driving and some mechanical adjustments.

The downside of the Supersprints format is with only about four flying laps in a session, you don't get much time to dial in.

Having said all that, wow, it felt so good. The motor feels strong and the revised diff ratio certainly suits the car better. I'm excited to get some more time in is soon.

Next round is the Amaroo (South) circuit on 26th April so not long to go for the next outing.

A big thank you to my mate Tony Savva for helping me through diagnosing what turned out to be only a flat battery. Others had indicated a much greater problem but working it through was so good.

Also a big thanks Ian McC for these photos and videos and also to him, Steve Bradley and their respective offsprings for pushing me back from scrutineering after the battery issue surfaced. Appreciate you guys being there and hope you can come again in the future. Both are my colleague's from Busways. This is certainly a different driving experience to that. 🤣🤣
