Learning from the best! πββοΈ
We welcomed back Australian swimmer and entrepreneur, Jade Edmistone, Founder and Managing Director of ONCORE Academy, for session two of our swimming program.
Our State Development, State and National swimmers focused on butterfly and breaststroke drills, using ONCORE to develop technique, balance and body awareness.
A fantastic session with plenty of progress in the pool! π

Huge thanks to Drew McGregor, Director of Coaching at Swimming QLD, for presenting to MBS swimmers and parents today.
His deep dive into long-term athlete development, the crucial roles parents and coaches play, and a glimpse into a young athleteβs life gave us plenty of takeaways explaining why we do things the way we do at MBS.
Thanks, Drew, for your time, insight and attention to detail!

Tuesday afternoon we had the privilege of welcoming Brant Best from Swimming QLD on deck.
Brant's world-stage experience and his work mentoring coaches across Queensland gave our swimmers and coaches a valuable learning boost.
We're glad he'll continue working with our team in the months ahead.

Queensland Short Course Championships ποΈ
What a weekend for MBS athletes. Strong swims across the board, plenty of finals appearances, and a PB rate that says a lot about where the squad is at.
Weekend by the Numbers
- 46 races swum
- 29 Personal Bests (63% PB rate)
- 6 medals
- 4 Top 10 finishes
- 11 Top 20 finishes
Almost two-thirds of all swims ended in a new personal best. That's the standout number from the weekend.
Medals and placings are great, but the PBs are what tell the real story. They show the training is doing its job. A few athletes had big breakthroughs, and just as importantly, the squad kept producing PBs right through to the end of the meet β not just in the early sessions.
A really strong championship weekend, and a good marker for where the squad sits heading into the next block of training.
