A part of every good story unfortunately has an end.
For the last 6 years I have had the pleasure of coaching Daniel. He has taught me a lot over the years with his condition and it has definitely made me a better EP. He's an absolute character in the gym and always put his efforts in, he loved hearing about all my pets and we often spoke about food, especially burgers 🤣.
The amount of gratitude I have for Daniel and his mum Lela for trusting me from the beginning, then continuing to support me when I started my own business 3 years ago. I cannot thank them enough.
I'm gonna really miss this guy, and I wish him and his family safe travels in starting a new chapter down south.
Thanks for the good times mate!

Australia is a big country, and for those living in remote, rural and regional areas, access to immediate care isn’t a guarantee.
This October, I’m taking on a month-long fitness challenge to help more people access the care they need. By going further, I hope to raise as much as possible for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Every year, the RFDS reach more than 330,000 Australians with 24-hour emergency retrieval and primary healthcare services. That’s one person every two minutes!
Together, we can keep the Flying Doctor flying and continue their life-saving work. Please donate to my challenge today!

Much love.

What is all this jargon?
A client of ours had undergone a total knee replacement. We were able to do strength testing early on in the rehab, and a test performed today, using the VALD equipment.
This client is 77 years old and has had a moderate level of strength and fitness prior to the surgery, but prior to coming to see us, the pain was too great to adequately challenge the tissues.
Interestingly, even from the get-go, the surgical limb was stronger and has kept getting stronger. Anyone who has any fears regarding their knee replacement should see these results very positively and boost your confidence that you're NOT frail or weak.
Very excited to see the discrepancy between limbs get reduced over the next month or 2.

Are you scratching your head on ideas for your home schooled child when it comes to physical activity?
Discover the amazing advantages of a weekly 1 hour gym-based PE class for a maximum of 6 students with a supervised Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
Why choose a gym-based exercise class?
Exposing young children to structured exercise helps to build confidence, independence, and goal setting, improve cardiovascular fitness, and improve muscular strength, which gives them the best start when entering adulthood.
Science is clear that exercise helps with emotional regulation, social interactions, confidence, and cognition.
Through structured sessions, your child will learn to understand the importance of physical activity, how the body works, the muscles used, and helps to put into a practical experience of any theory learnt.
I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have about this program, so please don't hesitate to reach out if this has sparked your interest.

What is Hypetension? Or simply known as high blood pressure.
Blood pressure is the force of blood pushing against your artery walls as it flows from your heart. It is determined by the amount of blood pumped by your heart and the amount of resistance to bloodflow in your arteries. Therefore, the narrower your arteries are and the more blood your heart pumps, the higher your blood pressure will be.
Unfortunately, most people with hypertension, even those with dangerously high levels, have no signs or symptoms. A few people may suffer from headaches, shortness of breath, or nosebleeds. However, these signs may not result until hypertension has reached a life-threatening stage.
Exercise helps to reduce future disease and strengthens your heart, lungs, and muscles. Can reduce your medication dosage. Manage mood and stress.
Come have a chat with us about how exercise can help in the prevention or management of hypertension. 💪

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
Type 2 diabetes is a condition in which the body becomes resistant to the normal effects of insulin and gradually loses the capacity to produce enough insulin in the pancreas. Type 2 diabetes develops over a long period of time (years), often being asymptomatic. As a result of this insulin resistance, the pancreas responds by producing greater and greater amounts of insukin, the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas wear themselves out. Thus leading to a diagnosis of T2DM.
While people may have a strong genetic disposition towards type 2 diabetes, the risk is greatly increased if people display a number of modifiable lifestyle factors including high blood pressure, being overweight, not being active enough, eating a poor diet and having the classic ‘apple shape’ body where extra weight is carried around the waist.
The body stores glucose (sugars) as glycogen, in the liver, and skeletal muscle. So exercise can help in many ways. By increasing the lean muscle mass, you effectively increase the fuel tank (storage capacity) for glycogen rather than remaining in the bloodstream in high levels. Also, the muscles can utilise their own hlycogen stores for energy, therefore, again, creating more storage capacity.
If you or someone you know needs assistance with managing their T2DM, please contact us. You deserve to regain that high quality of life and enjoy those meaningful activities.
