BREAKING NEWS: We’ve just received word that the owners and operators of the Enduro World Cup (EDR) series, Warner Bros. Discovery Sports in conjunction with the UCI have just announced that they believe moving forward beyond 2026 Enduro racing needs a fresh structure specifically designed around the discipline, rather than continuing within the broader UCI World Cup format. Or in other words, at the end of the current 2026 season Enduro World Cups are no longer!

The offical press release that was sent to this masthead explained that the exact details of what comes next to fill the space left by the World Cup formate of Enduro are still being worked out, but the goal is to give Enduro more flexibility, greater opportunities for innovation and a stronger focus on participation and the wider riding community. On a positive front though, the press release did also clearly state that whilst enduro World Cups will be no longer the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro and E-Enduro World Championships, which were introduced in 2024, will continue and are expected to become the major focus of the international Enduro calendar.

Our take, given the immense profile and popularity amongst fans and racers that the Enduro World Series enjoyed just a few short years ago it sure has been sad to observe Enduro racing’s apparent recent decline. That said, hopefully the future of world scale enduro racing will one day (soon) be reinvented into something epic which will be embraced by riders, the industry and of course fans around the globe.

What do you reckon the future of ‘world’ enduro racing might look like?

“Talk about the ultimate upgrade - hands down these are the most impressive tyres I’ve ridden in recent years! The new Maxxis Minion DHX is a stunning gravity performer which will instantly turbo charge the handling and performance of your gravity sled. With a tread pattern perfect for the front or the rear of your bike. Right from the very first ride, I felt a whole new level of trail grip which then beckoned me to stay off the brakes, push faster, and trust that I wasn’t about to ‘wash out’ or crash. The new sidewall tech that Maxxis have developed really works as well – I found that my usual ‘go to’ PSI settings needed to be dropped down which made the tyres come to life and perform even better. With the new Minion DHX I reckon we’re looking at the new ‘number 1’ on the market! – [R]evolution MTB

Minion DHX Key Features:

• New tread pattern – ideal for front or rear

• 27.5” or 29” sizing – both 2.5” width

• Reinforced shoulder k***s that resist folding under extreme cornering loads/speeds.

• New progressive casing construction

• New sidewall technology reduces trail vibration

• This allows you to reduce ‘usual’ air pressure by 2-3 PSI for way more grip without sacrificing stability.

• Rubber compound enhances longer lasting rubber wear

• Improved puncture protection.

• Weight 1454grams 27.5”, 1550 grams 29”

• Price (Aussie) $124.95 (27.5) $129.95 (29)
