Trevor Green – One of Australia’s Toughest Speedway Racers, and our precision magnesium welder !

Before many knew him as a respected fabricator and welder, Trevor Green had already earned a reputation as one of Australia’s finest Sprintcar drivers.

Hailing from Adelaide, Trevor made the transition from Speedcars to Sprintcars and quickly proved he belonged with the best. In 1996 he claimed his first World Series Sprintcars feature race victory at Speedway City, calling it the biggest win of his career at the time.

Just a year later, the Adelaide welder etched his name into Australian speedway history by winning the prestigious 1997 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at Warrnambool in his very first attempt. Driving the family’s low-budget No. 4 car, he defeated some of the biggest names in Australian Sprintcar racing in what remains one of the Classic’s most memorable victories.

Over a career spanning hundreds of races, Trevor became known for his smooth driving style, consistency, and determination. He regularly challenged for major events, finished runner-up at the Australian Sprintcar Championship in 2009, recorded strong results in the Australian Sprintcar Nationals, and was consistently recognised among Australia’s top Sprintcar drivers.

Away from the racetrack, Trevor built an equally respected reputation as a welder and fabricator. His craftsmanship, attention to detail and work ethic reflected the same qualities that made him successful behind the wheel.

Trevor Green represents everything great about Australian speedway/motorsport hard work, humility, determination and letting results speak louder than words. A true South Australian legend.

This past weekend, we had Clayton fly over from Tasmania to Adelaide as preparations continue for our return to the water.

The weekend was spent carrying out a thorough inspection of the boat, including crack testing the driveline, checking over the V-drive gearbox, inspecting the steering system, and going through all of the rigging and fit-out components to ensure everything is race-ready.

We’ve also continued developing our enclosed cooling system to achieve the optimum operating temperature for our all-aluminium engine. Alongside that, further work has been carried out on the fuel system as we fine-tune the new combination.

We’re now eagerly awaiting the arrival of the final parts before the Pontiac engine can be dyno tested and fitted back into the boat.

The excitement is definitely building, and we can’t wait to get back on the water, put all the hard work to the test, and enjoy doing what we love!

It’s been a quiet few months off the water for the Patriot Blown Alcohol Displacement Race Team following our racing in January, but behind the scenes the workshop has been anything but quiet.

Over the past months we’ve been hard at work developing our new all-aluminium Pontiac Big Chief engine package, with a huge amount of research, development, going into every part of the build as we prepare for the next chapter of the team.

The engine,is now nearing the next major milestone — dyno testing and engine setup — where we’ll continue refining the combination and gathering valuable data as part of the ongoing R&D process.

We’re expecting the new package to produce in excess of 2000 horsepower, and we’re excited to see the results as development continues.

A massive amount of effort has gone into getting the team back to this point after January’s setback, and we’re looking forward to sharing more updates as we move closer to returning to the water.
