πŸ‘NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! πŸ‘πŸ†

A big congratulations to our Cooloola Heat player, Chloe Daly , and the Queensland team on an outstanding National Country Championships in Bendigo!

Queensland went undefeated throughout the entire tournament, earning their place in the final against Victoria and finishing in style with a fantastic 3–1 victory to claim the championship! πŸ₯‡

What an incredible tournament and achievement. We are so proud to see Chloe representing Queensland and flying the flag for Cooloola Heat on the national stage.

Fantastic work, Chloe β€” congratulations to you and the entire Queensland team! πŸ‘πŸ† πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

We might be a little late with this one, but this achievement is definitely too good not to celebrate!

Back in early July, our Cooloola Heat goalkeeper Jorja Chilton proudly represented Queensland Gold at the Under 18 National Championships in Darwin. πŸ‘

Jorja had a fantastic carnival, competing against some of the best young hockey talent from across Australia, with Queensland Gold finishing an impressive 5th overall! πŸ‘

Representing your state at a National Championship is a fantastic achievement and a great reward for all the hard work and dedication Jorja has put into her hockey.

Congratulations, Jorja! Sorry we're a little late with the shout-out, but we're incredibly proud of you and your achievement! πŸ‘

πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ HEAT TURN IT UP AGAINST THE SWANS! πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

What a weekend for our Cooloola Heat Men and Women, with BOTH teams coming away with fantastic wins over the Maroochydore Swans! πŸ‘

Our Heat Women set the tone early, coming out firing and putting two goals on the board in the opening quarter through Romy Whittaker and Emily Collyer.

Romy wasn’t finished there, finding the back of the net again to help the ladies claim a brilliant 3–1 win over the competition’s second-placed side! πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

Then it was the Heat Men’s turn β€” and they were just as quick out of the blocks!

Joe Hodgson and Connor Innis both struck in the first quarter to give the Heat the perfect start.

The victory has now secured second place for our men, pushing the Swans back into third! πŸ”₯πŸ™Œ

Two teams.
Two wins.
One very good weekend for the Heat! πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯πŸ‘

πŸ‘ World Cup UpdateπŸ‘

What an incredible achievement by our Gympie Hockey Masters players at the World Masters Hockey International Masters Cup (IMC) in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

Congratulations to John Daly and Brad Morgan, who proudly represented Australia A in the Men's Over 50 IMC competition. After an outstanding tournament, they faced England in the Gold Medal match, with England claiming a hard-fought 3–2 victory, leaving our Aussies with a well-deserved silver medal. πŸ₯ˆ

John had a fantastic tournament, scoring in the gold medal match and finishing as the 4th highest goal scorer in the Men's Over 50 IMC competition. Brad was outstanding between the posts, conceding just one goal throughout the entire tournamentβ€”an incredible achievement for any goalkeeper.

Congratulations also to Rozan Daly and the Australian Spirits, who finished their campaign in style with a convincing 5–0 victory over Alliance to claim the bronze medal in the Women's Over 50 IMC competition. πŸ₯‰

Their success is a wonderful reminder that hockey is truly a sport for life, with opportunities to continue competing at the highest level well into your Masters years.

Congratulations to John, Brad and Rozan, on your outstanding achievements. You have represented Australiaβ€”and Gympieβ€”with pride and have inspired the next generation of hockey players.

πŸ‘ WEEKEND WRAP-UP πŸ‘

The men got the day off to the perfect start with a cracking 2–1 win over the ladder-leading East Coast Waves! It was a fantastic team performance, with Joe Hodgson and Connor Innis each finding the back of the net to secure a memorable victory.

The East Coast Waves women showed exactly why they sit on top of the ladder, claiming a 6–1 win over our ladies. Despite the result, our team continued to battle right until the final whistle, with Majella Barnes scoring late in the match.

Next weekend both our men's and women's teams head to Buderim to take on the Maroochydore Swans as the race to the finals heats up.

πŸ‘ Gympie Hockey Proudly Represented on the World Stage! πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

What an incredible achievement for our Gympie Hockey family at the World Masters Hockey International Masters Cup (IMC) in Rotterdam, Netherlands!

Congratulations to our Cooloola Heat men John Daly and Brad Morgan, who have helped Australia A book their place in the Over 50 IMC World Cup Final after a fantastic semi-final victory over Zimbabwe. They will now take on England for the gold medal! πŸ₯‡ Let's go Australia!!!

Joining them in the Australian team are Craig Owen and Paul Malcolm, who both played all of their junior hockey right here in Gympie. It's a wonderful achievement to see four players with strong Gympie connections competing together on the biggest stage in Masters hockey.

Meanwhile, Rozan Daly and the Australian Spirits were desperately unlucky to go down to Argentina in a thrilling semi-final decided by a shootout. They now have one more challenge ahead as they play for the bronze medal.

To have so many players with Gympie roots representing Australia at an international level is something our entire hockey community can be immensely proud of. Their achievements are also a fantastic reminder that hockey is truly a sport for life. The opportunity to continue playing at an elite international level well into your 50s is something very few sports can offer, and it is a testament to the lifelong friendships, fitness and community that hockey creates.

πŸ’šπŸ’› Good luck to John, Brad, Craig and Paul in the IMC Final against England, and to Rozan and the Australian Spirits in their bronze medal match. The whole Gympie Hockey community is cheering you on from home! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Go Australia! Go Gympie!
