Congratulations to our Open Mixed Crew including their Skipper Paul and Changes Manager Ange for smashing out a great race in the 42km changeover at the Hamilton Island Cup 2026!

This crew was special for so many reasons!

Golden Master Rod steered the crew around Pentecost and then handed the reins to our U19 steerer Harlym👏

Sparkles was saying her goodbyes underwater from seat 1 til she popped up at the stern and Rod reached out with his steerers blade as a lifeline 🙌

It was a family affair with hubby and wife Team Talbot and mother and son Team Hawkins Harris. Skipper Paul was also wearing two hats as Emma’s No. 1 cheerleader 🫶 So much love in the air 🥰

As for the results, this crew was in a field of 61 Start crews. They were 4th in their registered Open Division (3rd if we entered them as aggregate Masters). The bling would have been awesome but smiles, safety and experience are worth so much more.

Well done crew and thank you Jen for welcoming us at the finish and cheering for us all the way!
