This month has seen 7 of our players head overseas to continue their football journeys:
🇮🇩 1 player to Indonesia
🏴 4 players to England
🇬🇧 2 players to Northern Ireland
Broken down by state: 4 from QLD, 3 from NSW.
And we’re not slowing down! As we roll into August, we’ve got even more players on the move:
👧 6 girls heading to England (3 QLD, 3 NSW)
👦 7 boys from NSW to England
👦 1 boy from VIC to England
👦 1 boy from NT to England
So proud of every one of these players chasing their dreams. The journey continues! 🌍⚽

Tonight, two Queensland boys have started their journey back to the UK.

Last season, Jay Buchanan and Bobby Page were part of the Steven Gerrard Academy in Liverpool. Their performances then earned them the opportunity to trial with Larne FC in Northern Ireland, where both players secured offers to join the club.

Larne FC are the current champions of Northern Ireland and next week begin their UEFA Champions League qualifying campaign. It’s an incredible environment for two young Australians to continue their football journey, training and competing at a professional club with ambitions of reaching European football’s biggest stage.

What makes this story even more special?

Jay and Bobby have been mates since they were just 7 years old, playing together at Palm Beach FC. Years later, they’re now chasing the same dream together on the other side of the world.

From local football in Queensland to professional football in Europe — proof that hard work, resilience and belief can take you anywhere.

Basically, we need a young baller aged 12-16 on the Gold Coast who:

✅ Loves football more than homework
✅ Has a big personality
✅ Is comfortable on camera
✅ Can handle a bit of banter
✅ Is available for weekend matches and some training nights
✅ Won’t freeze the second we say “action”

Your job?
Football content, challenges, behind-the-scenes videos, matchday madness and probably getting stitched up by the FC9 coaches.

In return, you’ll receive all the benefits of FC9 Pathway Programs, mentoring, football development and some very cool opportunities.

A huge congratulations to CD Atlético de Marbella Paraíso on securing promotion to the Tercera RFEF!🇪🇸⚽

In a remarkable display of character and determination, Marbella Paraíso overturned a 2-0 first-leg deficit by defeating UD Maracena 2-0 in the Promotion Play-Off Final on 31 May, earning a historic place in the Tercera RFEF.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and belief shown by the players, coaches, staff, and supporters throughout the season.

At FC9, we are proud to partner with ambitious clubs that provide genuine opportunities for player development and progression. We look forward to seeing Marbella Paraíso continue their success at the next level.

🇦🇺✈️ End of a Successful UK Season

The final group of our FC9 players have now departed the UK for the off-season after an outstanding few months abroad.

These four talented NSW players (aged 15, 15, 16 and 17) arrived in February and quickly made a big impression with their clubs, coaches, and teammates. Their commitment, professionalism, and performances throughout the season have been a credit to themselves and their families.

After gaining valuable experience in a highly competitive football environment, they will now return home for a well-earned break before heading back to the UK in August to begin pre-season preparations.

We’re incredibly proud of their progress and look forward to seeing what the next chapter brings. ⚽🔥

8 years ago, they were just two young players chasing the same dream — to become professional footballers. Yesterday, that dream took another step forward as they faced off against each other in the UK. Not coincidence… reality.

More and more players and families are recognising the lack of clear pathways and opportunities here in Australia, and are making the bold move overseas to give themselves a real chance. Jay and Zak are perfect examples — both British, whose families moved to Australia for a better life… now heading back abroad to chase their football dreams at the highest level.

👏 Special mention to Zara — Zak’s sister — currently in Northern Ireland after once again being selected for the NI U19 squad ahead of the upcoming UEFA Euro Qualifiers. Huge achievement!
