🛵🚖 TAC Road Safety Round Returns | Round 12 | July 26th 🛵🚖

This week, The Saints SFFC proudly joins football clubs across Victoria as we ‘Band Together’ in the annual TAC Road Safety Round.

Blue armbands will be worn by all players across the field, representing a shared commitment to honour the lives lost on our roads and to drive change in our community.

This year’s focus is speeding, a contributing factor in at least 30% of fatal crashes and 25% of serious injuries on Victorian roads. The message is simple and urgent: Don’t risk it. Slow down.

Because when it comes to road safety, every decision matters. Your team, your club, your family - they’d all rather you arrive late than never arrive at all.

Whether you’re travelling to training, to a game, or just down the road... take your time. Be safe, not just for you, for your family and friends too.

Show up for your team. Slow down on the road.

RND13 Wrap up - beautiful crisp sunny winters morning for football last week with The Saints SFFC playing away. Our little U8s faced off against Aberfeldie in a mini AFL match, with a 2°c start it was hard to get the hands out of our sleeves and catch the ball but we tried till the very end. That Aberfeldie team was also a head higher than all our players so we did well ago this considered!!
U10s had a bye and we expect all those legs to be well rested for training Wednesday night.
U12s were defeated by Oak Park(2) in a tough battle to the very end. The score didn't reflect the effort of our players on the day and sometimes that is the case but it was a tough game and by all accounts our behaviour and attitude was exemplary.
U14s had their 2nd win of the season against Pascoe Vale (2) in a cracker of a game. The team seem to find their groove early on in the game and had the opposition on their back foot for what seems like the entire match. Proving what we already knew, that the Saint Lions are a much improved and talented bunch and that win was right around the corner! Congratulations to the entire team on the well earned win! We are all so happy for you.
Now Saints, stay focused!! Let's finish up the season in RND14 at home with an extremely rare 4 games at home at Oak Park Reserve!
GO SAINTS!! 📢🤍🏉💛

TAC ROAD SAFETY ROUND | JULY 23–26

The Saints SFFC are joining many junior and senior football clubs across Victoria in support of the TAC Road Safety Round played on 26 July.

Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Whether you’re driving to training, heading to the game, or travelling home after a day at the club, every decision you make behind the wheel matters.

During TAC Road Safety Round and always at the Saints we encourage and remind our families, members, volunteers, supporters and the wider community to 'Be the Difference' by making better and safer choices on our roads.

✅️ Slow down!
✅️ Focus, don’t drive distracted.
✅️ Wear your seatbelt every time.
✅️ Don't drive under the influence of Alcohol or Drugs ever.

Together, we can help ensure everyone gets home safe.

Be the difference. Make the right choice.

RND12 Wrap up - The Saints SFFC had another round of mixed results and lots of hurdles to take the field this week. A big thank you to those who made a special effort to be on time and present for their team. It made the job easier for our Team Managers.
U8s had a challenging game against a much improved Hillside RD team. Well done to the little ones for giving it their all with lots of the team away. We saw some great talent emerging that's for sure.
U10s had a cracking win against Glenroy at Sewell Reserve proving to be too good against an improved Glenroy team. Defence had to work hard to keep the game going in the right direction and that's a credit to the Glenroy kids. Some great efforts witnessed in the game and it was wonderful to see the girls shine this week!
U12s had a tough contest against Greenvale 3, playing hard and not giving up against their opponent. Always tough to get the win away but our kids gave it a crack and didn't get the desired result this time.
U14s had a very challenging game against a tough opponent and cohesive unit in the Doutta Stars. With a reduced team due to holidays the Saint Lions were tenacious to the end but the tenacity didn't translate to a result this time. Well done for finishing the game and giving it your all.
To our U12s and U14s - we know it's easy to show up when you're winning, but it takes strength of character and resilience when you aren't, but you learn more from a loss than a win any day of the week. We have a win in us - every week we come closer to that win. We can do it. Let's finish the season strong!
GO SAINTS 📢💛🏉🤍
