If I hadn’t trained in 5 years, I wouldn’t try to “make up for lost time.”

I’d make getting back into the gym as easy as possible.

Week 1:

1️⃣ Go 2–3 times
2️⃣ Keep the sessions short
3️⃣ Use simple exercises
4️⃣ Leave a few reps in the tank
5️⃣ Don’t chase soreness
6️⃣ Focus on actually enjoying being back

Your first goal isn’t to transform your body.

It’s to become someone who trains consistently again.

Because the biggest mistake people make after a long break is trying to train like the version of themselves they used to be.

You’re not starting from where you left off.

And that’s completely fine.

Start where you are.

Build from there.

You used ChatGPT to write your workout…

And somehow you’ve ended up doing 47 exercises, training for 2 hours and needing three business days to recover. 😂

AI can give you information.

It doesn’t know:

• Your actual training history
• Your technique
• Your injuries or limitations
• How well you recover
• What equipment you have
• What exercises you actually enjoy
• Whether you’ll realistically stick to the program

A good training program isn’t just a list of exercises.

It’s a plan built around you.

The best program in the world is useless if you hate doing it, can’t recover from it or won’t stick with it.

More ≠ better.

Better programming > more exercises.

“How are you so comfortable putting yourself online?”

I’m not.

😂

Making content as an introvert business owner is basically a constant battle between:

“People need to know I exist.”

and

“Please nobody perceive me.”

But if I want to help more people, build a business and actually reach the people who need coaching, hiding behind the camera probably isn’t going to work.

So I post.

Even when it feels awkward.

Even when I overthink the video.

Even when I watch it back 14 times and suddenly hate the way I said one word.

Because confidence usually doesn’t come before you do the uncomfortable thing.

It comes from doing it repeatedly.

And honestly, that applies to training too.

You don’t need to feel confident walking into the gym.

You just need to walk through the door.

MONDAY MYTHS ❌

“You need to eat perfectly to lose fat.”

Nope.

You need to be consistent, not perfect.

You can lose body fat while eating:

🍕 Pizza
🍫 Chocolate
🍔 Burgers
🍦 Ice cream
🍝 Pasta

The difference is how those foods fit into your overall diet.

Fat loss comes down primarily to maintaining a calorie deficit over time.

That doesn’t mean eating as little as possible.

It means creating a realistic approach that gives you enough food to train, recover, enjoy your life and still make progress.

Because if your diet is so restrictive that you can only maintain it for 10 days before demolishing the pantry…

It probably isn’t a very good diet.

The goal isn’t:

“Never eat unhealthy food again.”

The goal is:

“Learn how to include the foods you enjoy while still moving towards your goal.”

**Perfect diets don’t exist.

Sustainable diets do.**

Save this for the next time you think one meal has “ruined” your diet.

POV: Your favourite client cancels their session and suddenly you’re questioning everything you’ve ever done as a trainer 😂

But seriously… if you’ve got a coach who genuinely enjoys seeing you turn up, get stronger and make progress, you’ve probably found a good one.

And if you’re the client who has to cancel?

We’ll forgive you.

Eventually.

The important thing is not letting one missed session become a missed week… then a missed month.

You don’t need perfect consistency.

You need to keep coming back.

That’s how results actually happen.

If you spend most of your day sitting at a desk, in the car or on the couch, there’s a good chance your body feels like it’s been folded into a chair by 5pm.

Try these 3 stretches to get yourself moving again.

The goal isn’t to “fix” your posture in 30 seconds.

It’s simply to introduce some movement after being stuck in the same position for hours.

And remember:

Stretching is useful.

But if you sit for 8 hours and stretch for 3 minutes, the bigger win is probably finding ways to move more throughout the day.

Try:

🚶 A short walk at lunch
🧍 Standing up regularly
🏋️ Strength training a few times per week
🪑 Changing positions instead of staying planted all day

Your body generally likes movement more than it likes being treated like office furniture.

Save this for your next stiff-at-your-desk moment.

You eat well Monday to Friday…

Then Friday night arrives and suddenly your calorie deficit has been declared missing. 😂

If your weekends are constantly undoing your progress, the answer probably isn’t to become stricter Monday–Friday.

It’s to make your weekends more manageable.

Try this:

✅ Keep your normal meals
✅ Prioritise protein
✅ Don’t skip meals to “save calories”
✅ Pick the foods/drinks you actually care about
✅ Get some movement in
✅ Stop treating Saturday and Sunday like a free-for-all

You don’t need to eat perfectly to lose fat.

You need your overall week to be working in the right direction.

One restaurant meal won’t ruin your progress.

One big weekend probably won’t either.

But if every weekend turns into two days of eating like you’ve just been released from a nutritional prison…

That’s worth addressing.

Build a lifestyle you can actually maintain.

Hope your day gets better.

And if it’s already been a shocker, here’s your reminder that you don’t have to completely write the day off.

You can still:

→ Get a workout in
→ Go for a walk
→ Drink some water
→ Eat a decent meal
→ Get outside for 10 minutes
→ Go to bed a little earlier

You don’t need to “start again Monday.”

You don’t need to punish yourself for having a bad day.

You just need to do the next useful thing.

One bad day doesn’t undo your progress.

Just like one good day doesn’t magically create it.

The boring, repeatable stuff is what changes your body.

Keep going. 🤝

REAL TALK #7
The gym is about more than changing your body

Most people start training because they want to look better.

But what keeps people coming back is how it makes them feel.

Less stressed.
More confident.
More in control.

Training gives you something that’s yours.

A small part of the week where you show up for yourself.

DRIVE THRU DECODED #2
Roll’d 🍜

Takeaway doesn’t have to be the thing that ruins your progress.

The biggest difference between people who succeed and people who restart every Monday?

They learn how to fit normal food into their goals.

You don’t need a perfect diet.

You need a plan that works when life gets busy.

That’s how results actually last.

Save this for your next takeaway decision.
