A huge congratulations to SSP Netballer Lexie Whatley, who has been selected in the final squad of 25 for the Victorian U19 Netball Team! 🔥👏

A fantastic achievement for Lexie and a reflection of the hard work she continues to put into her netball.

Lexie has been fortunate to be mentored and guided throughout her development by our Netball GOAT Susan Meaney 🐐, alongside the rest of our brilliant SSP Netball crew, Stacey, Ainsley and Seth, who continue to challenge and support our netball athletes every day.

We’re incredibly proud of Lexie for reaching this stage and wish her all the best for the final selection process. Hopefully the next announcement has her name in the final Victorian team! 🤞💙

A huge congratulations to our Intermediate Boys Netball team, who are the Netball Victoria Schools Championship State Champions! 💙🧡

The boys capped off a fantastic day with a thrilling 16–15 win over St Paul’s Anglican College in the final! 🥇

An outstanding effort from every player across the day. The boys represented Western Heights College brilliantly and should be incredibly proud of this achievement.

And they’re not done yet! 👀

The boys will be back on court this Monday for the SSV Intermediate Boys State Finals!

🌍🏀 WHC STARS JOIN NBA BASKETBALL WITHOUT BORDERS | ISTANBUL 🇹🇷

A huge congratulations to SSP Basketballers Emmanuel Majak and Riak Akhuar, selected for the NBA & FIBA Basketball Without Borders Next Up Camp in Istanbul, Türkiye!

Emmanuel 🇸🇸 and Riak 🇦🇺 will join 78 of the best young basketball prospects from 44 countries and territories, competing and developing in front of NBA and FIBA coaches, scouts and players.

The camp features NBA players including Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez and Jalen Suggs, with Cleveland Cavaliers Head Coach Kenny Atkinson among the coaches working with the athletes.

Since launching in 2001, Basketball Without Borders has helped develop some of the world’s best international talent, with 155 former campers progressing to the NBA or WNBA.

Another incredible international opportunity for Emmanuel and Riak, who both recently represented South Sudan and Australia at international events and a proud moment for our Western Heights SSP Basketball Program. 🧡🏀

Wishing our Junior U15 Boys and Girls Basketball Teams the very best of luck as they compete in the prestigious Champions Cup Elite 8 round today at the State Basketball Centre! 🔥

A fantastic achievement for both teams to reach this stage of the competition. We’re incredibly proud to see our athletes representing Western Heights College on the big stage.

🏃‍♂️ AUSTRALIAN CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS 🇦🇺

A fantastic effort from Year 7 Specialist AFL Program student Isaac French, who represented Victoria at the Australian Cross Country Championships in Ballarat today! 💙

Competing in the U14 age group, Isaac finished an impressive 16th overall and 7th for Victoria against some of the best young cross country runners in Australia.

Isaac was very happy with his result, and even more impressive considering the course resembled a mud pit! 😆🌧️

Congratulations Isaac on a brilliant achievement and a great experience representing Victoria! 👏💪🧡💙

A great morning for our Western Heights College Specialist Sports Program students at the annual BIS Sport Breakfast, held at GMHBA Stadium yesterday.

SSP Netball students Lexie Whatley, Jack Te Paa and Ellie Rundle, along with Principal Fiona Taylor and Head Coach of Netball Susan Meaney, represented WHC at this fantastic event, which raises funds and awareness to support local athletes across the Barwon Region.

Our students had the opportunity to hear from an impressive line-up of guest speakers, including Simone McKinnis, former Australian netballer and multiple-premiership Melbourne Vixens coach; Lee Troop, Olympic marathon runner; and Megan Moody, Geelong United NBL1 Head Coach.

They also enjoyed the opportunity to meet and mingle with Christine Couzens MP, State Member for Geelong and Parliamentary Secretary for First Peoples, and Stretch Kontelj, City of Greater Geelong Mayor.

It was a wonderful opportunity for Lexie, Jack and Ellie to hear from accomplished athletes and coaches, connect with leaders from across our community, and proudly represent Western Heights College.

Congratulations to our WHC Intermediate Netball Boys who progressed through the qualifying rounds to State Finals next week!

A fantastic effort all day, with a tough final match against Crusoe College the Boys remained undefeated and will advance to Finals Day.
