Guys, please
. The biggest changes to your health do NOT happen overnight, they happen quietly, they take time!

You don’t just randomly accidentally wake up one day with a boat load of muscle??? Just the same way as you don’t accidentally become confident, and you don’t accidentally build healthy habits, right??

Butttt you CAN accidentally lose muscle. You can accidentally reinforce negative self-talk, you can accidentally create habits that don’t help you, you can accidentally show your kids what’s “normal”, even if it’s not “healthy”. At the end of the day, you CAN, and WILL accidentally become the result of the small choices that you repeat every day.

This is the thing about your health, it’s not just one decision. It’s the collection of allllll of your little habits and choices, combined together. The hundreds of tiny ones. Every workout, every meal, every conversation with yourself, every choice to keep going instead of giving up. Your habits are shaping your future, whether you realise it or not!!!

So ask yourself this
What am I accidentally becoming? 💭

“It’s fine, I’m only 28.” “I don’t need to worry, I’m in my 30’s.” “I’m too young to worry about menopause.”

I hear this allllll the time. But here’s the thing ladies, menopause doesn’t suddenly pop up one random Tuesday. Your hormones begin changing yearsssssss before your final period happens, and those changes can affect your muscle, bones, metabolism, recovery and overall health long before menopause itself.

Look, ya can’t stop menopause, BUT you can build a body that’s more resilient when it arrives!!! HOW you experience menopause can be very, very different depending on how you treat your body. The habits you build in your 20s, 30s and 40s become the foundation your future self relies on! Sooooo?? Lift weights! Eat enough protein & fuel your body! Move your body regularly. Prioritise your sleep.

Every workout you do, and every meal you consume isn’t just about or for today’s body. You’re investing in the woman you’ll be 10, 20 and 30 years from now!

So no
don’t train because you’re scared of getting older. Train because you deserve to age STRONG! Because you deserve to be the mum, aunt, nana or woman who CAN! Who can say yes, who can get up and down off the ground, who can participate, who can be pain free. Who can use her body. Who can still be HER. 💜

Weight loss isn’t linear, and it definitelyyyyyy isn’t about being perfect. It’s about building habits you can actually stick to!

Here are a few of the little yummy snacks I’ve had on rotation lately!!! 😍

One thing I’ve noticed lately is that nutrition has somehow become about 10x more confusing than it needs to be?! There’s SO much information online, and while a lot of it isn’t necessarily wrong
it’s usually designed for someone else. For example purposes of this post, let’s call this person
 Rebecca.

Now, you do not need to eat bananas if you hate bananas. You do not need to force yourself to eat eggs, cottage cheese, pickles, protein oats, or whatever food is currently trending or Rebecca is showing off on her story.

If you don’t like it
 DON’T đŸ‘đŸŒ EAT đŸ‘đŸŒ IT đŸ‘đŸŒ

I see so many people scrolling endlessly, searching for meal inspiration by copying “What I Eat in a Day” videos or trying to follow Rebecca’s meal plan. Spending hours cooking elaborate dishes, spending hundreds on groceries, all to hate it, or then they wonder why they’re starving by 3pm
or why they’re gaining weight after following a 3,000cal meal plan that was created for Rebecca, who’s double your height, half your age, trains differently, has completely different goals, and lives a completely different life????

Nutrition isn’t about eating the “best”, “healthiest” or “good” foods
whatever those even mean anyway?? But it’s about eating foods you actually enjoy, in amounts that match your goals, your lifestyle, your preferences and your routine.

The best nutrition plan isn’t the one that looks the prettiest on Instagram. It’s the one you can actually stick to.

Let’s stop overcomplicating nutrition more than it already is. Start with the basics, seek advice from someone qualified if you need it, and stop trying to fit Rebecca’s calories into your own life.

God damnnit, Rebecca this is all your fault. đŸ˜€

Banana & Honey Toast is alwaaaaays super easy, and takes 2 min! A nice little preworkout snack 🍌🍯

Pizza bagels HAVE MY HEART. I did maybe leave this one a little long in the air fryer, but so simple & easy to make! đŸ•đŸ„Ż

(Usually I use a high protein cheese but I ran out 😭)

Deconstructed sushi is one of my daily rituals at the moment! So easy, and also so many variations you can make too!! 🍣🍚

Maybe not for everyone but simple rice & scrambled egg

Now lemme tell you, your body is adapting every đŸ‘đŸŒ single đŸ‘đŸŒ day!!!!

Not because it’s tryna make your life harder, but because that’s literally like
. what it’s kinda designed to do 👀

When you move less, the body learns it doesn’t need as much muscle
she literally says ‘bye miss girl’. So visa-versa, when you challenge the body, it gets stronger right?!

Same goes for fuel, if we fuel the body well, it has the resources to recover, build muscle, get strrrrrongggg! If we don’t fuel the body, it feels weak, lethargic, we probably feel very heavy right???

If you repeat habits well then your brain starts treating them as normal. For example early morning training sessions, hydration, steps, chores even! Everything can be built into the routine, and made easier by doing so.

Before you go belting yourself up, just remember the body isn’t “stubborn”, It’s simply responding to the cues you’re giving it. Now the super exciting part is that adaptation works both ways!!

No matter where you’re starting from, you’re never “too far gone”. Every workout, every meal, every walk and every good night’s sleep is another signal you’re sending your body. So ask yourself

What am I teaching my body today?

Hi, I'm Stef! The owner of Thrive. I help re-educate and support women everyday to achieve their goals.

I see all too often the industry trying to sell women 'motivation', or 'bulletproof plans that work for everyone!' and it makes me really sad, because the reality is, you don't need more motivation.
You just need a plan that works when life is simply being life, whether that's crazy, busy, chaotic, or overwhelming.

At Thrive, my aim is to help women build strength, confidence and consistency through encouraging realistic habits, evidence-based training and personalised support. I do NOT believe in extremes, restriction, or 'perfect'. The reality is that life in itself is never going to calm down for us, and I wish people would stop exploiting women, selling them fake programs, or telling them they have the same 24hrs as the next person, because it simply is not true.

That's a little bit about me and what I believe in, just helping women through coaching that is designed for REAL women with REAL lives, not the fake BS you see online!

I wanted to skip today’s workout. Once upon a time I would have 10000% done that. My motivation was low. My energy was low. I just wasn’t really feeling it tbh.

But here’s the thing I’ve come to learn, nobody else can do the work for me. I can harp on and on about my goals all day long, but if my actions don’t match them, they’re just wishes really aren’t they??? It took me a long ass time to realise that the days you feel motivated are easy. The days you don’t feel like showing up are the ones that actually move you forward. So today, and every other day, I chose to train anyway. Defffinitellyyy not because I always feel like it, but because building more muscle requires consistency, not “perfection” or “extreme motivation”. My personal goal right now is to build more muscle, especially through my lower body, and unfortunately muscle isn’t built from motivation. It’s built from repeatedly doing the things that support that goal, even when I really don’t f*%king feel like it.

It’s important to understand that every meal, every session, every rep and every nutritional decision I make either moves me closer or further away from the outcome I want, and no one is coming to do that for me at the end of the day. It’s up to me.

So I trained anyway. And if I can do it, you sure as s**t can too my friend because just like you, I am too human. (:
