â” Congratulations to Ruby Colman â Busselton Freight Rising Sports Star for March 2026! đ
Congratulations to Ruby Colman from St Mary MacKillop Catholic College, who has been named the Busselton Freight Rising Sports Star for March 2026.
Ruby has enjoyed an outstanding year in sailing, earning selection in the Australian Sailing 2026 National Youth Squad, Australia's elite pathway for future high-performance sailors.
Her 2026 achievements include:
â” 4th at the Nacra 15 National Championships
â” 3rd in her division at the NSW High School Regatta
â” 4th in the Women's Division and 7th overall in the Youth Division at the Hobie 16 Youth National Championships
â” Competed at the Formula 18 World Championships, racing alongside world-class sailors
â” 13th at the Windrush 14 State Championships
â” 7th at the Formula 18 State Championships
Adding to an already incredible year, Ruby has also been selected into the South West Academy of Sport (SWAS), where she will continue to develop as one of the region's most promising young athletes.
Ruby's dedication, resilience and passion for sailing have seen her excel at local, state, national and international levels, making her a deserving recipient of the March 2026 Busselton Freight Rising Sports Star Award.
