🎱Premier 9 Ball – Round 7 Recap🎱
Round 7 of the Premier 9 Ball Series saw 25 players take to the tables, with another fantastic day of handicapped 9-ball action producing plenty of close matches, big performances and, ultimately, a little bit of history.
🏆 Ernesto Jay Carasig Makes History
Ernesto Jay Carasig has done it again!
After battling his way through a tough side of the draw, Ernesto has claimed his second Premier 9 Ball Round victory, becoming the first player in the series to win two rounds.
Ernesto started his campaign with a dominant 7–1 victory over Hlal Al Kassir, followed by a commanding 7–0 win over Bat-Ireedui Chimeddorj.
He then faced Abedelrahman Moussa, who had put together a strong run of his own, but Ernesto continued his charge with a 7–2 victory.
That sent him into the semi-final against Rafael Tan, where Ernesto eventually came through 5–2 to earn his place in the Round 7 final.
🎱 The Final
Waiting for Ernesto was Alex Bao, who had also produced an impressive run through the other side of the draw.
Alex defeated Andrew Samarija 6–2, before overcoming Dai Leota 6–4 and then producing an outstanding 8–2 victory over Patrick Badman to reach the final.
With Alex Bao rated 600 and Ernesto Jay Carasig rated 614, both players were racing to 6 in the final.
But Ernesto saved his best for last.
He produced a phenomenal performance, defeating Alex 6–0 to take out Round 7 and become the first two-time Premier 9 Ball champion.
🏆 Congratulations Ernesto Jay Carasig!

🎱 Premier 9-Ball Series – Round 6 Recap
Round 6 of the Premier 9-Ball Series delivered another day of quality pool, with the handicap format once again proving that anything can happen. Several higher-rated players looked set for deep runs, but a pair of 506 Fargo-rated competitors battled their way through opposite halves of the draw to set up a surprising final.
Congratulations to 🏆 Gino Bonelli, who captured the Round 6 title with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Raymond Carpio.
The top half of the draw saw several standout performances. Andrew Samarjia (589) began strongly with an 8-3 win over Patrick Badman before being edged out 5-4 by Dai Leota (553). Dai's run would come to an end in the semi-finals, where Kympton Cress (600) continued his excellent tournament with a convincing 6-2 victory after already accounting for Jamie Walker (639) and Barry Mavros (678).
On the opposite side of the bracket, Rafael Tan (667) looked every bit a title contender, opening with dominant wins over Lee Hopwood (7-0) and Alex Bao (7-2). However, one of the biggest upsets of the day belonged to Gino Bonelli (506), who eliminated Rafael in a tense handicap battle, winning 3-4 while racing to just three frames. Gino then backed it up by surviving a thrilling hill-hill semi-final against Kympton Cress, prevailing 4-4 to secure his place in the championship match.
The bottom half was equally competitive. Jayden Thompson (622) started impressively before falling to Nasa Munkhnasan (544), while Omid Neshadi (575) produced strong wins over Jan Amiel Baste and Klien Demecillo to reach the semi-finals.
Standing in Omid's way was another inspired performance from Raymond Carpio (506). Raymond defeated Iris Kasparian, Ned Pulido and Nasa Munkhnasan before producing another impressive upset with a 5-4 victory over Omid to earn his place in the final.
That set up a championship match between two players carrying identical 506 Fargo Ratings, a fitting reward for two competitors who had navigated difficult paths through the draw. While both had enjoyed fantastic tournaments, it was Gino Bonelli who saved his best performance for last. Gino controlled the final from the outset, defeating Raymond 6-1 to claim the Round 6 title in style.
Congratulations once again to Gino Bonelli on an outstanding tournament victory, and well done to Raymond Carpio on an excellent runner-up finish. A big thank you to everyone who competed—we're looking forward to seeing you all back for Premier 9-Ball Round 7! 🎱🏆
