It is with great sadness that Coffs Colts share the news of the sudden passing of Andrew Murray (Kiwi)

Kiwi an accomplished left arm spinner played U21 for NZ.

However it was in 2001 when he arrived in Coffs and played for the Colts from 2002-2009 then one final game in 2015 for fun before moving to Beenleigh.

He was a grand finalist and integral part of Colts 2004 season as well as taking 8/33 v West Coffs in 2003, the 25th all time bowling figures in Coffs Harbour 1st Grade history.

He famously before the toss would come up to the captain and say

‘ it’s a spinners wicket’ which we all got use to listening for years.

He was so proud of his daughter Georgia playing for Colts in the first girls side in Coffs Harbour playing against the boys in 2014 & 2015.

He will be remembered for his cheeky antics and was a good teammate and clubman always checking in on how the club was going when he frequently came back to Coffs.

Colts past players and everyone that knew Kiwi are most welcome to come down to the Greenhouse tonight from 6pm to celebrate his life.

RIP Kiwi and as you would say Up the Wahs.

NEW U16 REGIONAL QUAD SERIES

A new opportunity has been introduced for Under 16 players across the North Coast, with teams from Mid North Coast, North Coast, Far North Coast and Northern Inland coming together for a competitive regional T20 series.

The series will be played over 26–27 September, with each team playing three T20 matches across the weekend.

For North Coast-based players, the series also provides an opportunity to be identified for the Bradman Cup selection trial following the completion of the round-robin matches on Sunday.

Dates:
Saturday 26 September
Sunday 27 September

Format:
4 regional teams
T20 cricket
3 matches per team
Competitive representative environment

Venue: Kempsey is currently proposed, with final confirmation to come.

The Bradman Cup trial is one component of the overall selection process.

A great opportunity for U16 players to experience higher-level regional cricket, compete against strong opposition and put themselves forward for the next stage of the pathway.
