Has your son or daughter ever dreamed of becoming a race car driver? Junior Speedway is a fantastic way for young drivers to develop confidence, car control, sportsmanship and mechanical knowledge in a safe, controlled environment.

𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝟏𝟎 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝟏𝟕.

If you're looking at joining through the Newcastle Street Stockers Club, we'd love to help! While we don't have a permanent local speedway, our members regularly race at Cullen Bullen, Dubbo, Gilgandra, Grafton, Gunnedah, Lismore, Narrabri, Tamworth and Western Sydney, just to name a few.

There's no better way to learn than by seeing it for yourself. Wander through the pits, check out the cars and have a chat with drivers and their families. Speedway is a welcoming, family-oriented sport, and everyone was new once.

We'll help guide you through becoming a club member, obtaining a junior licence through Speedway Australia, and understanding everything you'll need to get started.

✅ 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿.
Many families begin by purchasing a ready-to-race Junior Sedan, and chances are someone in the pits will know of a suitable car for sale. If you'd rather build your own, we can also point you in the right direction to ensure it's built to the current Racing Sedans Australia specifications.

✅ 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁.
Junior Sedans are fitted with full roll cages and built to strict safety regulations. Drivers are also required to wear approved safety equipment, including a helmet, race suit, gloves, boots and a neck restraint.

🏎️ 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗻𝘀

✔️ Built from small four-cylinder production cars.

✔️ Maximum engine capacity of 𝟏𝟔𝟎𝟎cc (must comply with current Racing Sedans Australia specifications).

✔️ Turbocharged, supercharged and rotary engines are 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱.

✔️ Drivers begin as 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀, learning race procedures and racecraft before progressing to 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 as they gain experience.

✔️ Junior Sedan racing is 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴, with clean and respectful driving strongly encouraged.

Popular Junior Sedan models include the Hyundai Excel, Daihatsu Charade, Mitsubishi Mirage/Lancer and other approved production vehicles.

Most importantly, 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Every racing family started somewhere, and our club is always happy to help new families get involved.

If you'd like to see Junior Sedans in action, we recommend coming along to the 𝗥𝗦𝗔 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗻 28 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆. It's one of the biggest Junior Sedan events on the NSW calendar, attracting drivers and families from right across the state. It's the perfect opportunity to see the cars up close, meet competitors and ask plenty of questions.

Today we went to UHROC Speedway to try out the fender benders and I've gotta say we put on a show!

𝟐. 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐎𝐑 𝐌𝐎𝐃𝐄𝐋?

Anyone constructing a 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐯𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 must complete an 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐚 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞/𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 before construction begins.

The completed form must be submitted through the NSSC Secretary for RSA approval.

𝐃𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝.

This does not apply to vehicles that have already been constructed and registered with RSA.

The form can be found on the RSA website under Documents, in the same location as the ECU forms.

𝟑. 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐄𝐂𝐔 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐃

All computers/ECUs must be sealed or resealed before green sheeting.

This applies to both 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬. Previously sealed computers must also be resealed for the upcoming season in accordance with RSA specifications.

𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒

All Holden computers must be sent to:

The cost is $𝟑𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫.

Previously sealed computers still require the full $300 payment. You can then send your receipt to RSA to receive a $𝟐𝟎𝟎 𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

The computer must be sent with the required Holden form.

𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒

All NSSC Ford computers must be sent to Club President 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫.

The cost is $𝟓𝟎 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫, and this must be pre-arranged with David beforehand.

The computer must be sent with the required Ford form.

Once your ECU has been installed and all required forms have been completed, contact one of our club scrutineers:

Please don’t leave it until the last minute. Start organising your membership, ECU, paperwork and green sheet now so your car is ready for the upcoming season.

I was very surprised and grateful to receive the 2025/26 RSA Volunteer of the Year Award. I’m lucky to be part of a sport and racing community that means so much to our family.
