Fast Bowling Session /U13 level

Deep attended his first one-on-one CricMatrix coaching session, focused on developing his fast bowling.
Assessment of his run-up and delivery revealed that concern about overstepping the crease was causing him to look down just before his delivery stride. This habit disrupted his focus and contributed to inconsistencies in line and length by forcing a late shift of attention back to the batter.
To tackle this, we introduced a series of foundational bowling drills aimed at sharpening his awareness, improving his rhythm, and building trust in his run-up. One of the standout observations was that Deep had naturally established a 20-step run-up—something more commonly seen in genuine pace bowlers—which highlighted his instinctive desire to generate momentum and bowl with speed.
We then made a subtle but highly effective adjustment to the way he marked his run-up. The impact was immediate. Across the entire session, Deep did not overstep the crease once. Even more encouraging was the way his confidence grew with each delivery. Rather than worrying about the line, he began trusting his approach, locking onto his target, and committing fully to his action.

Progress isn’t always driven by major technical changes. Often, a small adjustment paired with a clear understanding of the “why” behind a habit can unlock meaningful improvement. Deep demonstrated an excellent willingness to learn, embrace feedback, and adapt—qualities that will serve him exceptionally well as a young cricketer.
