NSWPSSA RUGBY 7s

Best of luck to Bonnie Reynolds from St Joseph's Adelong as she proudly represents her third MacKillop Team for 2026!

Bonnie is currently in Kiama representing the MacKillop Team at the NSWPSSA State Rugby 7s Championships, being held today and tomorrow.

The MacKillop girls kick off their campaign at 9:00am against North West, before taking on South Coast, Riverina, Sydney West and Polding throughout the day. Tomorrow will see the finals and playoff matches get underway.

Adding to what has already been an incredible year for Bonnie, she has been given the tremendous honour of being named Captain of the MacKillop Team for these championships.

This is a fantastic recognition not only of Bonnie’s talent and performances on the field, but also of her leadership, character and the way she represents her team. To be selected in three MacKillop Teams in the one year is an outstanding achievement, and to now have the opportunity to lead one of those teams at a NSW State Championship makes it even more special.

We are incredibly proud of everything Bonnie has achieved so far this year and know she will give absolutely everything she has for her team over the next two days.

Congratulations on your captaincy and good luck, Bonnie!

SCHOOL SPORT AUSTRALIA TENNIS

Beatrix Fleming from St Bernard's Primary School, Batemans Bay is currently in Queensland representing the NSWPSSA Tennis Team at the School Sport Australia National Championships.

Beatrix has played some outstanding tennis throughout 2026, producing an incredible representative season on her way to the national stage.

Her journey began representing the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn at the MacKillop Trials, where she won every one of her matches to earn selection in the MacKillop Team. Beatrix continued her dominant form at the next level, once again impressing on court and earning the ultimate reward — selection in the NSW Team!

The National Championships commenced on Sunday 23 August, with NSW taking on the Northern Territory. Beatrix made a fantastic start to her championships, winning both of her matches:

V Northern Territory
Singles: 6–1, 6–2
Doubles: 4–2, 4–0

V Tasmania
Singles: 6-2, 6-2
Doubles: 4-0, 4-0

The NSW Team continued its campaign yesterday with matches against Tasmania and the ACT, with Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland still to come throughout the week.

What an incredible achievement to progress from our Archdiocese pathway, through MacKillop and NSWPSSA, and now compete against the best school-aged tennis players from across Australia!

Congratulations on everything you have achieved so far, Beatrix. We are incredibly proud of you and wish you and the NSW Team the very best of luck for the remainder of the Championships.

We look forward to following Beatrix’s week of tennis and reporting on her results as they come in.

NSWPSSA RUGBY FINAL RESULTS

Congratulations to Rory Bensley (St Mary’s Primary School, Crookwell) on a fantastic NSW State Rugby Championship!

Rory was a proud member of the MacKillop Team, who enjoyed an outstanding tournament and finished with a well-deserved Bronze Medal after proving themselves to be one of the strongest teams at the championships.

It was also wonderful to have Shaun from our Catholic Education Office involved as part of the MacKillop coaching staff, helping support Rory and the team throughout the championships.

From all reports, Rory had an amazing experience. He learnt so much about the game, made some lifelong friendships and was in awe of the incredible rugby talent on display from across NSW.

Congratulations once again, Rory, on a wonderful achievement and an experience we’re sure you will remember for many years to come. We are so very proud of you! 🥉
