TRIPLE JUMP π¦π₯
Back in March, in his second-ever time competing in Triple Jump, Mikeire jumped 11.03m, coming incredibly close to the 11.05m club age-group record - missing it by just 2cmπ€π½
Fast forward a couple months to the Summer Series, next time competing in the event, he went even bigger - jumping 11.21m to break the club record, while also finishing 2nd overall against older competitors! π₯π
Since then, Mikeire has been working hard on his technique, rhythm and phases, continuing to improve and chase even bigger distances. ππ₯ππ

Throwing it back to the ACT Championships and ALAC qualifiers ππ½ββοΈπ¨π₯
π₯ 1st Place & 100m ACT Champion
Earning my spot to represent the ACT at ALAC (Australian Little Athletics Championships) and then heading up to Queensland, where I finished 4th in Australia π¦πΊπ₯
From taking out the ACT title to lining up against some of the fastest young athletes in the country β definitely a moment worth looking back on. πͺπ½
Every race, every experience and every opportunity is another step forward. ππ
I decided to scratch myself from the 200m today at the High Noon meet.
Today wasnβt about pushing my body beyond its limits. It was about training my mind to be strong enough to listen to my body, know when Iβve given enough and recognise when itβs time to stop.
After a massive day of footy, Long Jump and the 100m, I showed up and gave what I could β but being mentally strong also means knowing when not to push through. As a young athlete balancing multiple sports and training sessions throughout the week, Iβm learning that being able to say βno, thatβs enough for todayβ is just as important as pushing myself when the time is right.
Itβs important to know the difference between challenging your limits and overdoing it. Today I chose to listen to my body, recover and come back stronger. πͺπ½ππ
Sometimes knowing when to stop is all part of becoming a better and smarter athlete. ππ½ββοΈπ₯
Now onto a nice hot shower and icing these knees of mine ππ§πΏβΊοΈ
Onto the 100m sprint I goπ¨π₯
Lining up against some of the best athletes, many of them much older than me, I managed to come away with 4th place overall! πͺπ½π₯
Battling the icy cold, wet conditions π§οΈπ₯Ά with a body already fatigued from a tough morning of footy and Long Jump, I crossed the line in 12.28s

Straight from a tough footy game this morning and then onto High Noon #1 πβ‘οΈππ½ββοΈπ¨
Came 1st in Long Jump with a jump of 5.13m! π₯
Not a PB, but after pushing myself so hard in footy this morning that I was actually physically sick afterwards, the fatigue and sore body had well and truly kicked in by the time I got to the pit.
But I got up there, gave it my best shot and still managed to come away with the win πͺπ½π₯
Today wasnβt about chasing a PB β it was about showing up when my body was tired, having a crack and giving whatever I had left in the tank! ππ
Now onto the track events! ππ¨π₯
