Cairns Whale Watching has officially kicked off for another incredible season! 🐋🎉

After an incredible season last year, we’re going even bigger in 2026, collecting more whale behaviour and identification data than ever before. And the best part? You can help!

Love photography or enjoy recording wildlife observations? Join our citizen science program onboard and contribute to real whale research on the Great Barrier Reef, all while witnessing these breathtaking animals in the wild.

And who knows… maybe you’ll be the one to spot the elusive Migaloo! With a recent potential sighting off NSW, we’re keeping our eyes peeled to see if Australia’s famous white humpback makes another visit north. 👀🤍

We can’t wait to share another unforgettable season filled with incredible whale encounters, fascinating facts, terrible whale impersonations, and meaningful data, onboard Cairns’ only dedicated whale watching tour.

Our Reef Education days are designed around your curriculum and can be tailored to include meaningful cultural connections with our First Nations Cultural Guides. 🪃

Through storytelling, art, music, and hands-on activities, students gain insight into knowledge that has been passed down through countless generations. As the first stewards of the Great Barrier Reef, our Cultural Guides also share how Traditional Ecological Knowledge and modern science can work hand in hand to better understand, monitor, and protect this incredible ecosystem for future generations.🪸🫶🏽

We’ve definitely had at least 6…7 laughs while editing this one. 😅

Let’s just say the Newman Catholic College students, Yirrganydji Land & Sea Rangers and our Reef Education team were VERY optimistic about their potential sightings. 🤣 But what an epic day spent together on Yirrganydji Sea Country building strong friendships, sharing knowledge and stories, learning together and having plenty of laughs along the way. There’s no better classroom than the Great Barrier Reef! 🪸

Now the real question is… how many “sea pickles” have YOU spotted on the reef?👀🥒
