NJCA manages junior cricket in the Newcastle region including mixed junior cricket & all-girls format

The NJCA manages local junior cricket in the Newcastle Region including Rep Teams, Midweek T20, Twilight Girls Cricket and the regular Saturday competition. This year we have introduced the exciting Premier League and incorporated T20 into the regular season.

**🏏 ATTENTION U15 GIRLS 🏏**

Expressions of Interest are now open for any U15 female interested in playing rep for Newcastle.
- To be eligible, girls must be born on or after 01/09/2011 and must play cricket for a club in Newcastle Cricket Zone (NJCA or NDCA) in 2026/27.
- TWO teams will be selected.
- These teams will play in the local Greater Hunter Area comp (GHA), with Central Coast & Hunter Valley, and then the U15 Country Youth Champs, in January 2027.

Both NDCA sessions are for players developing the fundamentals of bowling, batting and fielding ahead of the season.

UMPIRING JUNIOR CRICKET THIS SEASON?

Reminder to register for the upcoming NJCA Umpiring Training Session.

This session will cover NJCA Playing Conditions, the brand new appointments process, key child safeguarding policies and tips for responding to spectator behaviour.

This session is mandatory for all new umpires who have completed their Level 1 Community Officiating Course.

Due to the new information being presented, it is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED that all existing umpires additionally attend.

‼ NJCA CARNIVALS - ACCEPTANCES DUE BY TOMORROW ‼

All associations who submitted EOIs for our January Carnivals were notified by email last week whether they have been invited to submit a team or have been placed on a waiting list.

🏏 INFORMATION FOR ALL OFFICIAL UMPIRES 🏏

The Newcastle Junior Cricket Association is bringing junior umpire coordination in-house for the 2026/27 season.

If you’re looking to be an offical umpire in an NJCA competition or carnival this season, no matter if you are an existing or new umpire, you must register for free with the NJCA through PlayHQ.

To umpire officially for NJCA in 2026/27, you must:
✅ Register for free with NJCA as an umpire through PlayHQ
✅ Have completed your Level 1 Umpiring Course (including the online module for those new this season)
✅ Attend the Playing Conditions Training Session if you are a new umpire, but highly encouraged for existing umpires
✅ If you are over 18, you must provide a WWCC

Registration with the Newcastle C&S Umpires Association is an additional option if you also want to umpire in the Saturday afternoon C&S competition.
