πββοΈπ³π΅ Exciting news for the Queensland Nepali running community!
On 5 July, a team of 15 runners from Nepal Run Australia will be travelling from Sydney to participate in the Gold Coast Marathon 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Queensland Nepalese Runners Group (QNRG) and Nepal Run Australia.
Among them is Nepal Run Australia Director Dinesh Pandey, who recently ran an outstanding 3:19 marathon at the record-breaking London Marathon in the 45+ category. Dinesh can also run a sub-20-minute 5km, and several other runners in the group continue to clock sub-20-minute 5km times despite being over 40 years of age. A number of them have also successfully completed the challenging 50km UTMB ultra marathon.
These runners are not only strong athletes but also a great source of inspiration for our community. It would be wonderful if members of QNRG could come together to welcome and felicitate them during their visit and continue building connections with these amazing runners from Sydney.
Unfortunately, due to my recent hand injury, I will be unable to attend and meet them personally. Nevertheless, I encourage our running community to extend its support and make the most of this opportunity to grow our network and celebrate their achievements.
Wishing all Nepal Run Australia runners a successful and memorable Gold Coast Marathon! πͺπββοΈπββοΈ

History Rewritten: The 2-Hour Marathon Barrier Falls
At the London Marathon last week, Sebastian Sawe has just made history by breaking the marathon world record and becoming the first man to run an official sub-2 hour marathon. Even more incredible β Yomif Kejelcha also went under 2 hours in the same race.
This is one of those once-in-a-generation moments in distance running. It shows how far human endurance can go when preparation, discipline, and belief come together.
For all of us training here in Queensland β whether you're preparing for your first 5K or chasing a half marathon PB β let this be a reminder: limits are always moving.
Keep showing up. Keep running. Our time will come πͺ
