Looking back over some of the framed origami shadow boxes I’ve made over the years.
I absolutely love using my hands to make something beautiful come to life out of very little. Our hands are so powerful and there is magic to be made out of nothing 💥
But oh! I’ve realised I’ve never actually made one for myself! They have all been gifted to others. I’ve loved doing this of course but I reckon it’s time to make one for myself. One of my first creative endeavours now that I am on long service leave from work which I am taking to focus on MYSELF. It will definitely be a tree of life and an opportunity for me to start to connect to my ancestral roots. A way to root down deep as I navigate this uncharted territory.
And if you are interested in making one of these precious pieces for yourself or a special other, you can join me this Sunday 28th for my tree of life workshop. There is space for you 🌲 🌬️ ✨

Life has a way of continually bringing me to my knees.
And it is in these moments I am pulled to find solace from the trees.
Come now she whispers . Rest your weary soul on my sturdy trunk.
Then she holds me, she grounds me, and I soften in the breeze.

I am delighted to offer this next women’s gathering as someone who has always loved trees - being with them, climbing them, hiding under them for shade, and yes hugging them 🤭
I have been making tree of life shadow boxes since .. well I can’t remember. Maybe I was first inspired by my love for Enid Blyton’s The Enchanted Wood and the Magic Faraway Tree book series as a child. But definitely by the many children I have worked with over the years and more recently by my own children - one a fearless tree climber who has given me shakey leg syndrome as a mother, and the other who has cried at seeing the beautitul trees cut down in our neighbourhood due to development 🌳 💗 🌳
Dedicating time to creating a tree is a wonderful way to tap into your true nature, find grounding and wholeness. And doing it in circle with other women coupled with a nourishing yoga practice provides opportunity for deeper connection and creative expression.
I am so looking forward to this gathering. If it calls to you or if you know another woman who may be interested, DM me for more details and to secure your spot.
Love,
Ashley

As part of my current Sadhana, I have made a commitment to radically embrace and embody the following:
✨ I commit to taking responsibility for myself.
✨ I will celebrate your unique beauty and gifts.
✨ I will not hold myself back to fit in and I will support you to do the same.
These were the commitments that most called to me from the wisdom school. The ones that when I read them aloud stirred up inside of me intense feelings of joy, excitement, longing as well as dread and fear. They are the ones that feel like a calling from my soul, the ones that feel like signposts for the way forward and the way home 💓
Something has been stirred up for sure 🪄 And I enter the day with greater reverence and devotion to the power of words and the sisterhood.
