When I was a teenager , I regularly visited gunshops. None were airgun friendly and regarded me as a nuisance I’m sure
Typical springers on their racks were Milbro, Diana and BSA. Nothing noteworthy but they’re still around 50+ years later
Occasionally one would have a Gecado or two and an Anschutz 335
All capable of lasting 50 years with care
Today, there’s nothing like that today on the racks.
All of it is junk in black synthetic stocks. I have no faith in these things going 5 years let alone 50
Weihrauch is still around better than ever!

‘Our gunsmith has checked it out thoroughly ‘ , ‘it’s in perfect condition’, ‘we’ve lubed it’ ……..
I hear this on a regular basis . Pay zero attention to this and don’t feel warm and fuzzy!
‘Gunsmiths’ know nothing about springers and don’t want to. They’re ‘comfortably numb’ when it comes to airguns especially springers
They have no idea what they’re doing and can make a terrible mess. I’ve sat through these courses and their coverage of airguns is embarrassing to say the least!
An ‘airgunsmith’ is a totally different breed and has a diametrically opposed skill set. I am an airgunsmith and while I have been trained in fi****ms I choose not to work on them . I leave them for others to do
If you can’t find a real airgunsmith in your area , you’re better off learning how to do it yourself.
Seriously!
Always plan to rebuild a preowned Weihrauch springer and you’ll be fine!

I love dealing with airgun enthusiasts. They love their springers and look after them. They listen to what I recommend and are a pleasure to know
Ive never enjoyed the small minority that seem to have ‘gunshop mentality’ and call them slug guns or fi****ms and think GAMO is the best
I find them quite difficult to handle as I get older ( now 68) and I want to enjoy my life
My whinge for the day

Almost every week Im asked by someone to fix their P*P
I don’t do them now because it’s a fast way to go broke!
I only know Matty Winser who I trust on P*P
My advice as always is buy a Weihrauch springer and a gorgeous .22!
Neither will leak!

Parts for springers are becoming hard to get. I’m getting calls from tbe US and UK looking for FWB and Diana parts in particular
Springs and seals are no problem but other things like pistons, trigger and safeties etc are next to impossible
Never a problem with Weihrauch!
Enough said!

I rarely if ever have a cocking problem with a Weihrauch after a rebuild. It just doesn’t happen!
Yet it happens time snd time again with other brands . It’s very tiring and frustrating!
Weihrauch are so over engineered and are meant to be rebuilt many times
I love Weihrauch’s and you should too
Pay the little extra and never take Weihrauch for granted!

I guess you’re waiting on the springers I HATE working on?
BSA Superstar/ Supersport
Diana 75
Air Arms sidelevers
Turkish anything!

Here’s an interesting post or at least I think so !
Springers I LOVE working on
Weihrauch all
FWB all
Air Arms TX200
They’re always straightforward , well made and never give problems others have like non cocking , triggers, safety , broken brackets, broken sights

I keep telling airgunners to stop buying these horrible new springers in gunshops! They’re all garbage and not worth considering.
I don’t care what the bloke behind the counter says, they are junk unless it’s a Weihrauch or a German made Diana
I do not want to hear about nitro pistons leaking, rotten triggers , terrible accuracy , low power , broken plastic bits etc
You are infinitely better buying a clean and tidy Weihrauch springer and fit a tune kit
You will get all steel construction , a match grade multilever trigger that gives no trouble , a precise rifled barrel , proper steel safety , superb metal open sights and a milled receiver with scope stop holes.
I know they get sold to buy P*P . Capitalise on that!
Don’t be a mug and get conned into an appalling scoped package either!
Let me help you!

I’m a Weihrauch and Feinwerkbau specialist . Thats what I’ve been trained on and I’ve sold and serviced many thousands
Weihrauch is by far the best supported and it’s not unusual to see a 50 + year old one to sort
Ive made the decision to not touch new Spanish , Chinese and Turkish springers. I don’t need the drama !
I like helping airgunners but too many come back to haunt!
Even Diana’s are hard to get parts for apart from basic service items I get from Maccari
Always enquire on other springers
