🏁 𝟐𝟓/𝟐𝟔 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍 || 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐘𝐄𝐓 🏁

At the start of the season, there were genuine questions about whether I still had what it took to compete at this level and if I wanted to continue in the sport after putting in effort week in and week out to come away with no results. Fast forward to the end of the season and we’ve come away with the QLD Speedweek Championship, 8 podiums, QLD No. 2 and competed for the win in 6 of those 8 results.

If you were to ask my old man one of his favourite achievements from the season though? Completing 21 race meetings whilst using the same top wing all year 😅

I honestly couldn’t be prouder of this team. Dad and Jack, you both played a massive role in turning the Q7 program around right before Christmas time, and from there we never really looked back. Mum, Trevor, Steve, and everyone else who lent a hand throughout the season, thank you for all your support and effort behind the scenes.

To my amazing wife, thank you for putting up with my endless rants after race night and frustrations throughout the season, whilst always being my biggest backer and number one fan.

ENDING THE SEASON ON A HIGH

On Saturday night we competed in the QLD Title at Maryborough Speedway in a small field of 18 cars

Qualifying: 8th
Heat 1: Started 3rd ➡️ Finished 1st
Heat 2: Started 4th ➡️ Finished 1st
Silver Shootout: 2nd (12.299s)
Gold Shootout: 2nd (12.116s)
A-Main: Started 2nd ➡️ Finished 2nd

As a team I am happy with our result as we set a goal coming in to the event to at least manage a 2nd place result and we achieved that. Weird to think in our only two QLD titles that we have finished have been a 2nd place run to the same car and driver which is nothing to be disappointed about.

Started 2nd and ran 2nd the whole race, congrats to Lochie and the SRV Team on another Title 👊🏽

Qualifying: 2nd (11.404s)
Lucky Dog Dash: Started 4th -> Finished 3rd
Heat 1: Started 8th -> Finished 6th
Heat 2: Started 8th -> Finished 3rd
A-Main: Started 1st -> Finished 2nd

We’re close but just not there, the driver just made the wrong call on the final lap and cost us the win. Feel bad for letting the team down as we’ve had a car for multiple shows that’s capable of winning and the driver hasn’t managed the full feature.

Still happy with getting our first USC podium ever and glad we were able to put a show for the crowd, we should have one show remaining at Maryborough for the QLD title so see what we can do 👊🏽
