Your money stories become your financial reality.

So here’s the uncomfortable question...

Are the stories you’re telling yourself about money empowering you, or are they keeping you stuck?

If you caught yourself hesitating on that one, good. That’s exactly where change starts.

Save this post as a reminder the next time an old money story tries to talk you out of something.

Follow for more of this 💛 and remember, your money story isn’t fixed. You get to choose and change it whenever you want 🫶🏽

It’s wild how one innocent comment, said with love, can write a story that we carry for years.

My mum never meant to create anything that would limit me. She said two lovely things, and my 16-year-old brain made it mean something else that limited me for way too long.

I go so much deeper into this one tomorrow, on The First Home Playbook podcast 🎙️ including the exact 5-step exercise I use to catch and rewrite limiting money beliefs.

Hit follow so it lands in your feed 🔔

And if you haven’t already, make sure you’re subscribed to the podcast on Spotify or Apply Podcasts 🎧

For now, tell me in the comments, what story have you been telling yourself about money?

Finish the sentence 👇🏽 “When it comes to money, I am...” No judgement here, ever x

This last week of school holidays has been a beautiful mix of work & play 💓

Catch up with friends where we enjoyed time out in the bush, bike riding, and dinner dates with a side of ping pong 🏓

Lego building, lots of World Cup watching & enough chill in the air to light up the fireplace 🫶🏽

And we finally got to see turtles after a disappointing turtle-no-show at the start of the holidays (thank you Historic Rivermill at Mt Nathan today - such a fantastic family fun spot!)

Heart is full of gratitude and joy 🥰

One of my favourite things about these school holidays has been watching the kids & their friends bring their business ideas to life 💖

Today they held their Christmas in July pop-up stalls on our front lawn:

🍪 A Christmas Cookie Craft Stall run by three enthusiastic business partners &

💕 A Friendship Bracelet Fun stall run by one determined solopreneur.

Over the past week they planned, shopped, made signs, worked out pricing and got everything ready.

From 10am until 1.30pm they welcomed customers, waved at passing cars, called out “Come to Cookie Craft!”, took payments and proudly showed off what they’d created.

Along the way they learned about costs, pricing, profit, customer service, marketing, money management and even tax (although today’s tax was paid in hugs 😅)

One of my favourite moments was watching our little bracelet business notice people weren’t seeing her stall. She grabbed a bigger table, made herself more visible, then later walked up to a customer’s car and asked, “Would you like to buy some friendship bracelets too?”

They bought two 💓

She earned another $5… but what she really gained was confidence 🥹

The kindness of our community absolutely blew us away too. People donated spare change, one customer insisted on paying $50 for two cookies, and so many strangers stopped simply to encourage the kids.

By the end of the day, the Cookie Craft Stall made $177.80 in sales and Friendship Bracelet Fun made $67. Making $49 net profit each from the cookies & $56 net profit from the bracelets 🙌🏽

The greatest return wasn’t measured in dollars though.

It was seeing them leave more capable, more confident and standing just a little taller than when they started. Such a beautiful activity this school holidays 🥰

Can highly recommend backing your kids’ big ideas! Have your kids done this before? If so, let me know what they sold below 👇🏽 x

School holidays so far 💓

A little photo dump of some of the moments I’ve loved this week (& also some that we loved a little less 😅)

LOVED cubby houses taking over the lounge room, bike rides, finding fairy mushrooms, spotting owls, park plays & slow mornings watching the World Cup as a fam ❤️

The moments we loved a little less...
Kids tailgating each other on their bikes 😬 spotting a snake, and not finding the turtles we’d hoped to see 🐢😭

Overall though, I’d call it a pretty good first week 🫶🏽

Wishing you a beautiful week ahead, with lots of little moments to love 💕
