The Brisbane Tongan Community Inc., in partnership with the Tonga High Commission, warmly invites all members of our community to attend this week’s Brisbane Tongan Community Forums with the Hon. Dr Taniela Fusimālohi, Minister for Lands, Survey, Planning and Natural Resources.

This is a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the Minister, receive important updates, ask questions, and engage in meaningful discussions on matters affecting Tonga and our community.

Tonga International and North Queensland Cowboys forward Jason Taumalolo has made history as the first Tongan heritage player to play 300 NRL games.

The landmark match came with a win against the Penrith Panthers at home in Townsville.

Taumalolo has played all of his NRL matches at the Cowboys and becomes the 56th NRL player overall to join the 300 game club.

Tongan royalty watched Taumalolo make history with Her Royal Highness Princess Angelika Lātūfuipeka Tukuʻaho and Lord Fakafanua, Prime Minister of Tonga, at the game.

Lord Fakafanua, who is also Chairman of Tonga Rugby League, hailed the star forward.

"Jason's impact extends far beyond the football field. His decision to represent Tonga at the peak of his career was a defining moment for rugby league in the Pacific.

"By choosing country over personal gain, he inspired a generation of young athletes to wear their heritage with pride and helped transform Tonga into a force on the international stage."
