What a beautiful day on the course today. Fine and sunny and not too hot - talking about the ladies of course! Except there is no such thing as not too hot. You go girls! To those who were unable to make it today - we missed you and look forward to seeing you next week.

Very important (and insistent) news from Andrea P - The water dragons are back on the 17th. For those of you who don’t like dinosaurs, you have been warned.

Happy to celebrate with Maureen H who hit over the 13th today - phew, always a relief. Some days I would prefer to just throw a few balls straight into the water and go and have a couple of drinks in the clubhouse.

Daph B beat the A Grade longest drive but being B Grade that did not get her past Sandra S’s drive to win Longest Drive on the 18th.

Congratulations to Glen R for a lovely Royal Chip into the hole. And Nanna Glennys out of the bunker and into the hole (again). Such show offs.

My spies tell me that Jean Brew had a super putt on the 16th - style all the way - well done!

Wishing Lee H all the best for her recent brush with the knife - how dare her doctor ask her if that thing on her face had grown! Rude! Oh - not her nose!

Sadly there were no leftover women today so I played by myself - not that I am particularly into leftovers! It takes a rare talent like mine to play alone and still lose 3 balls.

Some of our ladies find filling out the scorecard a challenge. You know who you are! Better buy some erasable pens for next week.

A special thank you to Karron Donnelly and Judy Brennan who have generously stepped in as Vice President and President when Iris stepped down as president. You are both doing a fantastic job and we appreciate you. We (the committee) are all learning as we go along and are open to helpful suggestions (and bribes).

Ladies, if we miss something in the scoring or run down at the end of the game, would you mind waiting until after the presentations and then come and see us (the committee). We will be happy to fix any errors where necessary. Only patient, happy people welcome. We are trying our best.

That said, remember why we turn up every week - to have a go, maybe win a ball, have a nice chat and go home and wait for the next time we meet.

By the happy chatter at the end of our round today, I would say we all had a great day (despite some patchy scores caused by water jumping in front of our balls, ducks forming a ring of terror, sand bunkers pretending to be the dunes in the Sahara). It’s an absolute pleasure to just enjoy each other’s company. Some of you are very funny and should be on stage.

Congratulations to Caroline Kennedy for a magnificent drive - 168 m - on the third. Apparently at the end of every fabulous shot we are all going to do “hulk” impersonations together with the disturbing growl (see photo below).

We all had a go and I must say it is very satisfying.

I am also very pleased to report that Daintree hit over on the 5th for the very first time. Well done and many more to come!

Did you hear that Glennys Nanna Carter chipped out of the bunker on the 9th straight into the hole for a well-deserved RC. Those baby cuddles are paying off.

My spies tell me that Daph Bale was celebrating driving onto the fairway on the 9th for first time in more than a year! Great job! I must say that I played that hole all the way up the 18th fairway to no avail.

Congratulations to Stevie Shelley who came back basking in the afterglow of some very impressive drives.

Just between you and I, I am aware of another duck murderer - we won’t tell anyone Margaret. (Maiming still counts as murder).

It is very satisfying to have a fabulous game when we are supposed to be at work - I’m not telling but you know who you are.
