Surrey Park Seahorses Masters Swimming Club

What a day at MSAC last week — exciting, successful, and so much fun! Highlights included a come-from-behind anchor leg, heaps of fast times, and a stack of new CRs.

We welcomed a first-time competitor to their debut meet and cheered the return of a teammate to the pool after years away. Also, massive respect to the two legends who stepped up for the 100 fly legs 🙌

🏊‍♂️ Surrey Park Seahorses Make Waves at Nationals! 🏊‍♀️

What an incredible three days of racing from our Surrey Park Seahorses!

Day 1:
We hit the ground swimming with five new club records and a stack of season and personal bests. A big highlight—a bronze medal in the age group category!

Day 2:
With eight swimmers in action, we saw more stellar performances, including two silver medals and a 4th place finish in the women’s 4 x 100m freestyle relay. Several long-standing records were also broken!

Day 3:
Six individual swims and three more club records added to the tally, plus a record-breaking effort in the women’s 4 x 50m medley relay to finish the meet strong.

3 adventurous Seahorses have just spent a week or so on the Gold Coast competing in the biennial Pan Pacific Masters Games.

🏅 Incredible Achievements! 🏅

✨Indoor rowing - Silver in the 100m sprint! 💪🚣‍♀️

✨ 1m & 3m diving event - Gold 🏊‍♀️

✨ Swimming -
🏊‍♂️4th place in the 50m fly
🏊‍♂️Bronze in the 100m fly
🏊‍♂️Silver in the 200m & 400m fly, 200m & 400m IM, and 2.5km open-water
🏊‍♂️ Gold in the 800m fly 🌟

Not only that, but state records in the 400m & 800m fly were shattered, records that had stood for over 20 years! 🏊‍♂️🐬

🏊‍♂️ Silver in the 100m, 200m, and 800m backstroke
🏊‍♂️ Bronze in the 100m, 200m, and 400m freestyle

And let’s not forget a solid top 10 finish in the 100m back and 200m breaststroke.

On Sunday night, a few of our Seahorses attended the MSV Presentation dinner at Sandy by the Bay. We’re thrilled to announce that we were presented with the trophy for winning our Division in the State Relay Meet! 🏅

The Baddaginnie Animal Swim, run by the Surrey Park Seahorses Masters Swimming Club, was held for the 9th consecutive time this year. This involves 200m each of Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly, a 400m Individual medley and 800m Freestyle, all completed within one day - truly an animal swim.
