Muddies Davidson are B3S premiers.

Fitzy won the toss and sent them in, and the bowlers did exactly what was asked. Springwood Suns all out 175, with Bhavan Mody 4/20 off 9.4 through the tail, Noah Telford 2/27 from 12 overs including six maidens, and Sanay Mody 2/36.

Then Caleb Connor dug in for 78 off 127 to build the innings. When we wobbled at 7/133 with the lead still a way off, Nathan Patterson came out swinging and made 51 off 53 to break the game open, and the tail saw it home.

We head into Day 2 at 1/22 after 13 overs, with Caleb Connor 19* and Caelan Gullo 2* at the crease. 154 to get, 9 wickets in hand.

GRAND FINAL BOUND 🦀🏆

Muddies Davidson are through to the Saturday B3S Grand Final after a first innings win over Macgregor Mongrels B3S in the semi at Judy Holt Park. 144 plays 128.

Peter Fitzpatrick did the damage with the ball. The skipper's 5/17 from 10 overs (2 maidens) is about as good as it gets in a semi final.

Noah Telford anchored the innings with 62 off 94 balls (6 fours), and the rest of the group did their bit around him across two tough Saturdays of finals cricket.

Back-to-back wins over the Mongrels, and this one had a lot more riding on it.

One game to go. The Grand Final is a two-dayer next weekend, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August, details to come this week. Get down and make some noise for the boys 📣

A 20-run first innings lead set it up, and Caleb Connor was everywhere: 116 with the bat, then 3/15 with the ball. Skipper Fitzpatrick wasn't far behind with 65 and 4/33.
