💚 Three reasons to love our courts!

1️⃣ Quality court surfaces
Some new members with extensive tennis experience recently shared that our court surfaces are some of the best they’ve played on - better than many other clubs! 🙌

It’s a wonderful compliment and recognition of the work that’s gone into maintaining our courts over the past few years, with ongoing care from Rob and our dedicated volunteers.

2️⃣ Great lighting for evening play 💡
Our court lighting has also been upgraded, with Council completing major electrical works to resolve the flickering lights, including a new switchboard, new wiring and an upgraded electrical circuit.

So you can enjoy a more reliable playing experience when playing under lights.

3️⃣ Three separate courts
All three courts are separate, so you can enjoy your game without players on the other courts affecting your play.

Ready to hit the courts? Come and experience them for yourself! 🎾

Winter hasn't slowed us down! 🎾❄️

Our coaching program continues to be busy throughout the week. It’s fantastic to see so many young players staying active, developing their skills and enjoying their time on court despite the chilly weather!

Thanks to everyone who keeps our club active throughout winter!

🎉 Big congratulations to our club president, Tom Quinn! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Tom's recognition through the Glen Eira City Council Volunteer Recognition Awards.

Tom was nominated by our Life Members, John and Judy Scott, on behalf of Glen Orme Tennis Club in recognition of his tireless dedication and commitment to our club. Over the years, Tom has contributed thousands of volunteer hours to improving our facilities, strengthening our community, and helping make Glen Orme Tennis Club the welcoming place it is today.

Thanks to his leadership, and the support of our many wonderful volunteers, our club has become a tennis facility we can all be proud of.

Congratulations, Tom, on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for everything you do for our club! 💚🎾

Last Sunday we reinvigorated the long running Rose Stewart Hit & Giggle Playoff. The playoff has long been a popular event where our weeknight social comps meet to play each other and enjoy a splendid social event. Rose was a stalwart of the club and known for organising our Thursday Hit & Giggle successfully over many years.

After a bit of lay off post COVID we had our Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night players participate in a series of the doubles, mixed doubles and very entertaining “single point slam”. Some good tennis and lots of fun with the highlight being the intensely fought “slam” Thursday night’s Tony Curwood took out the trophy whilst the BBQ cooked and drinks flowed. 🏆 🍾

Huge thanks to Tournament Director, Jayne and Head Catering Manager, Fiona and the big crowd who participated.👏

What a fantastic day we had last Sunday at our Open Day!

It was wonderful to see so many people come down, pick up a racquet, and experience everything our club has to offer.

We were especially honoured to welcome the Deputy Mayor, Cr Li Zhang - Glen Eira City Council, who took the time to visit and learn more about our programs and community initiatives.

From “Try Tennis” to “POP Tennis”, it was great to see people of all ages and skill levels getting involved, having fun, and connecting through sport.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and supported the day. Your energy made it truly special. We hope to see you back on the courts again soon!

Missed out? No worries. Get in touch with us to learn more and be part of our growing tennis community 🎾 🎾

Winners are grinners! 😄🎾

Some of our members travelled to Euroa this long weekend to compete in the tournament, and we’re excited to share that Fairlie Halligan and Jayne Grant came away as C Grade Doubles Champions – a fantastic effort on court and a great result!

Great effort as well from Fiona, Robert, Karen, Alan, Brad and Guy representing the club this long weekend. Well done to everyone who participated and showed great club spirit.

Mixed Doubles is about to kick off today, so good luck to everyone taking part. Have a great day on court!

More updates from the tournament can be found on the Euroa Lawn Tennis Club page.
