There is so much footage from Grand Final Day that I cannot wait to share with all of you but this feels like the best post to start with; This is footage from an hour before the game, just marvelling at the amount of people who had come out to support our team. On Friday night people started parking their cars down at the oval, and by 8am the oval was nearly full! And still people kept arriving, up until the bounce down. There would have been hundreds of people there supporting our boys and you guys were LOUD! Between the car horns, the cheering and yelling, the clapping and the occasional megaphone there wasn’t a moment that went uncelebrated.

And then there was also so many people tuning into the live stream… supporters in Bali, Victoria, England, rural WA and more tuned in to watch every minute of the game and offer their long-distance support and congratulations.

Not to mention all the people on here that commented encouragement and congratulations on all of the posts before, during and after the game.

We are so lucky! To be able to be surrounded by so much belief, support, and love is an incredible thing. Thankyou to every single person who has supported us throughout the 2026 season, in any way. We cannot express our gratitude enough! 💛🤎💛🤎

Our song was created by Bob Dixon, a Life Member of our club (awarded in 1995 I believe). Who knows how many times the words have been belted out by 100’s of players, supporters, committee members and family members from 1984 to now!

We sing these lyrics loud and proud every time, with passion and with dedication. The song is communal, it’s our team and it’s a way to celebrate together after a win.

Today there is the possibility that we will sing the song again and if that happens I want everyone to know the words. The song connects us to our history as Abalones players and we would love for it to connect us to our supporters as well. If we get the opportunity this afternoon, please sing it alongside us, loud and proud.
