PERFECT afternoon for Legends V Lightning!! Huge thanks to Mr Pickleball and Tam Forsyth for coming down to coach Buck for the State Masters comp the last few weeks.

💙 That’s a wrap on our very first 10-week Legends & Lightning League. ⚡

It’s hard to believe how quickly those 10 weeks have flown by.

When we started, I wasn’t sure how this format would be received. Fast forward to today, and it’s become one of the highlights of my week. Watching partnerships grow, confidence build, new friendships form, and seeing players of different ages sharing the court together has been something really special.

There have been plenty of laughs, a little friendly rivalry, some incredible rallies, and so many moments that reminded me why I started Positively Pickleball in the first place. It’s never just been about winning—it’s about community, connection, and creating a place where everyone feels they belong.

To every single person who has played, cheered, helped pack up, stayed for dinner, encouraged others, or simply turned up each week with a smile… thank you. You are the reason this league has been such a success, and I’m incredibly grateful for every one of you. ❤️

But don’t worry… we’re not done yet!

🏓 Next Sunday is our Legends v Lightning Special Event, where Legends and Lightning players will be randomly paired together for a fun afternoon of great games and plenty of laughs.

Then, for the last two Sundays in July, we’re trying something brand new…

🎉 Open Sports Members Draw Social Session!

The jackpot starts at $100 and grows by $25 each week until it’s won. Each Sunday, we’ll randomly draw one Positively Pickleball Open Sports Member. If they’re at the session, they take home the entire jackpot. If they’re not, the prize rolls over and keeps growing. Best of all, you’ll still enjoy two hours of fantastic social pickleball with an extra bit of excitement thrown in!

If everyone enjoys it, the Members Draw will become a regular Saturday night feature from August.

And for everyone wondering…

⚡ Legends & Lightning will return in August!

Rather than a 10-week season, it will become a monthly league, with you and your partner signing up once for the whole month. It’ll keep everything people love about Legends & Lightning while making it even easier to join in.

I’m so proud of what we’ve built together in such a short time. Positively Pickleball is growing because of the people in this community, and I honestly can’t thank you enough for believing in what we’re creating.

Here’s to the next chapter… and many more memories together on the courts. 💙

🏆 Steelworks Eatery Player of the Week – BUCK! 🏆

Some people make our club better simply by walking through the gates… and Buck is definitely one of them.
When you combine skill, sportsmanship, humour, kindness and being an absolute gentleman, Buck is the complete package. My day instantly gets better when I see that trademark smile, followed by the obligatory Buck hug.

One of my favourite things about Buck is his gratitude. Without fail, after every session, I receive a message thanking me for the games, the organisation and the feed. Those little gestures never go unnoticed.

He’s also been an outstanding partner to Michaella in Legends & Lightning, encouraging her every step of the way and helping her confidence grow. That’s what great partners do.

His hard work has also paid off, earning him a spot at the State Masters in the 60+ division. We couldn’t be prouder to have him representing Positively Pickleball.
