The weather has definitely put a dampener on our outdoor skating this week.

Blackwood Training Wrap Up….
A small group joined us at Blackwood on Saturday, and we had a fantastic session.
This week we worked on one of the most important safety skills in inline speed skating jumping obstacles. While we hope you never have to use it in a race, being able to confidently jump can make all the difference when avoiding a fallen skater, a moving stick, or another unexpected object on the track.
Learning these skills in a controlled environment helps build confidence, improves balance and coordination, and prepares skaters for the unexpected.
It may have been a small group, but there were plenty of smiles and lots of laughs.
We would love to see more skaters join train. You do not need speed skates to join us. All skates welcome.

Good luck to Stephen Cook as he represents Team Skate FX this weekend at the 2026 Brisbane Roller Sports Showcase Speed Skating Open.
We are incredibly proud to see Stephen wearing the Team Skate FX colours and wish him every success. Skate hard, race smart, and enjoy every moment.
We will be cheering you on from home!
The floor felt much better than it did last week, making for a great night of training.
With the rain settling back over Adelaide, we are hoping for some dry weather this weekend so we can get back out on the road. Until then, we will keep making the most of every training opportunity, whether it’s indoors or outdoors.
No matter the conditions, Team Skate FX keeps showing up, putting in the work, and getting better every session.
Nationals may still be 12 months away, but that doesn’t stop these skaters from putting in the work.
On cold winter mornings, we have to be patient and wait for the wet, dewy track to dry. But the moment it’s safe… we SKATE.
Come join TEAM SKATE FX SPEED!!
Not every training session goes to plan, and last night was one of those nights. With the floor feeling more like an ice rink than a speed skating track, we had to adapt.
So what do speed skaters do when conditions aren’t ideal? We make our own fun.
A game of Red Rover brought plenty of laughs and showed that our club is about more than just training hard. From our youngest skaters to our oldest, everyone got involved and reminded us that enjoying the journey is just as important as chasing results.
Young or old, you’re never too old for a game of Red Rover.
Winter has definitely arrived in South Australia. With the cold, wet and windy weather yesterday, we weren’t sure if we would even make it out today.
Thankfully, we were wrong.
It was fantastic to see such a great turnout, with everyone showing up ready to work hard. Thank you to all our skaters and families for turning up and putting in another strong session.
Now let’s hope the rain stays away for a while so we can keep rolling! Want to roll with us, send us a DM to start your speed skating journey.
The rain is back this week, which means outdoor training is once again on hold.
Thankfully, we were able to get some wheels on yesterday at Ingle Farm Recreation Centre. It might not be a 100m track, but after weeks of wet weather, any chance to skate is a good one.
Our skaters made the most of the session, putting in some quality work, sharing plenty of laughs, and enjoying being on skates together.
Winter can make training challenging, but Team Skate FX always makes the most of every opportunity.
