Basketball SA is pleased to announce the coaching and team staff who will lead our South Australian U20 Women’s and Men’s teams at the 2027 National Championships in Ballarat.

The U20 Women will return as reigning national champions after claiming gold in 2026 🥇, while the U20 Men will be chasing a medal after narrowly missing out with a fourth-place finish this year.

Registrations for U20 player trials are still open, with aspiring athletes encouraged to put their hand up for the opportunity to represent South Australia on the national stage. Registrations close 10 October.

Expressions of Interest are now open for athletes looking to represent South Australia at the 2027 Junior Wheelchair National Championships, to be held in the first week of April 2027.

We’re inviting eligible athletes to register their interest ahead of team tryouts:

Southern Tigers are bringing Walking Basketball to a new venue in Morphett Vale, with sessions tipping off on Thursdays!

Walking Basketball is a fun, social and low-impact way to stay active, enjoy the game and connect with others — no basketball experience required.

🥇 U18 ASIA CUP CHAMPION! 🇦🇺

A huge congratulations to South Australia’s Isaac Riddle and the Australian Emus, who have been crowned FIBA U18 Asia Cup Champions after completing a perfect unbeaten campaign! 🏆

The Emus secured gold with an 89–79 win over China in the Final, with Isaac making his presence felt on the glass — pulling down a team-high 10 rebounds, including seven offensive boards, in 18 minutes of action.

A proud moment for the South Australian basketball pathway product, representing our state on the international stage and coming home with GOLD! ❤️💙💛

The Forestville Eagles Men are through to the 2026 NBL1 National Finals Grand Final! 🦅

Basketball SA’s upcoming Representative Coach Qualification (Previously Association Coach) is designed for coaches working in representative and pathway environments who want to continue developing their knowledge and skills.

The pair will head to the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra for selection camp from 8–11 September, where the final 12 will be selected to represent Australia in Malaysia this October.
