Not just any little Pony - with the launch of .cc new Unicorn Pony, this mini cargo bike continues the legacy that was born in Ljubljana in 1964. The first Pony, a compact folding city bike fast became a staple on the streets in Slovenia.

The everyday machine is legendary enough to have its own annual mountain ritual: Red Bull Goni Pony - an absurd retro race only for Pony bikes, to climb from Kranskja Gora to the Vršič!

Last weekend gravgrav and Loose Cycles went bikepacking again—for Loose at the Coast (LATC) 2026!

After last year’s success with Loose in the Woods, we brought the idea to the Slovenian coast for an April season opener. More than thirty spots filled up within minutes, and so we had us a crew!

We built a 160 km gravel loop from Koper with 3000 m of climbing, taking the riders from coastal roads up above Trieste and into the hills, with wide-open views over the Adriatic, sunny spring weather, and that special energy of riding in a big group.

It wasn't all champagne gravel though, we saw a few mechanicals, a couple of tough climbs, and rough sections—but everyone adapted, helped each other out, and kept rolling forward. An overnight stop at Hostel Kras brought us the taste of a first summer evening with a great sunset, food, drinks, and good company before the second day of riding began. After a little more climbing and rattling down some loose gravel, the bunch of dusty legs and happy smiles saw a well-earned return to Koper.

And this is what the Loose Cycles event LATC is about—riding, figuring things out, soaking in the views, and sharing it all with a great group of people.

And also what gravgrav is about: enabling local european communities to create routes, organize events, and build up something together, one ride at a time.

In the market for a new camera to capture your cycling adventures this season? 🚴‍♂️

Jan and Žan from gravgrav put a couple of Nikon camera bodies and lenses to the test during a recent bikepacking trip. Safe to say, they were impressed as both of them ended up swapping out their previous Nikon and Fujifilm setups for the ones they trialled.

How do you scout a bikepacking event route and still find time to shoot photos along the way?

Last November, four of us set out from Ljubljana to explore the future Loose at the Coast route. The plan sounded simple: ride 410 km in three days, test some bikepacking setups, try two Nikon mirrorless cameras, and capture photos for the event.

Reality included rocky trails, a fenced pasture detour, sunset chases, riding in the dark… and far too much pasta.

In the article, we share what we learned about route scouting, gear choices and camera setups, and why ambitious mileage doesn’t mix well with photography.
