In January 2027, the Deaf Sports Community will come together in Innsbruck - Seefeld - Tirol to compete for 🥇🥈🥉.

The 21st Winter Deaflympics will celebrate the ICSD’s values in a city renowned for its rich Olympic history and world-class wintersport

Chess has been part of the Winter Deaflympics since 2019, making it one of the few mind sports included in an international winter multi-sport event.

While there’s no snow or ice on the board, every move demands strategy, concentration and nerves of steel. 🧠❄️

At the Winter Deaflympics 2027, the world’s best deaf chess players will once again compete for gold.

This is a friendly reminder that the Final Registration deadline for the Winter Deaflympics 2027 is 15 July 2026. The NDSF has to complete the Final Registration in the OMS! Check your email inbox – all NDSF members should have received another email there containing all the information and links!

Spo(r)t On: Elias Weissenbacher

One of Austria’s most promising young talents on snow ❄️
Highly motivated, ambitious and already Austrian Champion in his age category.

Unfortunately, Elias is still too young to compete in Alpine Skiing at the home Winter Deaflympics 2027 in Innsbruck – Seefeld – Tirol.

But don’t worry, there is still plenty of time for him to win many medals for Austria in the future 🏅

The future of Deaf winter sports looks bright 🙌

Top motiviert, ehrgeizig und bereits Österreichischer Meister in seiner Altersklasse.

Für die Heim-Winter Deaflympics 2027 in Innsbruck – Seefeld – Tirol ist Elias im Alpinen Skisport leider noch zu jung.

Aber keine Sorge, für ihn bleibt noch genügend Zeit, viele Medaillen für Österreich zu holen 🏅
