There’s a reason our photographer spends as much time hunched over a laptop, deep in the zone, as he does on the water...

We’re looking forward to having the action back at DOSC in September! Before any serious racing starts, we have the IRC Measuring Weekend 5-6 September, followed by the Back to Front training day on 12 September - then it’s time for the Dust Busters, getting you back on the water and ready for the season.

What’s on at DOSC?

Plenty of racing, specials, and live events! We’re still racing 4 days a week, with the traditional Wednesday Evening Pursuit Race, DF95 Social Racing on Thursdays & Sundays, and the last of the Stuckey Summer Series every Saturday.

Chef’s specials this week feature a delicious Ramen Bowl on Wednesday, and it’s Burger Night at DOSC on Friday! We’ve got some great drinks pairings for the specials every night too - just ask your waiter.

Burgee exchange with Commodore Kyran O’Grady of Wicklow Sailing Club and Lee Brown of Dubai Offshore Sailing Club after the 2026 edition of the Round Ireland Yacht Race.

Wicklow Sailing Club organise the Round Ireland Yacht Race. The race is 704 NM and leaves Ireland and all its islands to starboard in a clockwise loop starting and finishing in Wicklow. The first race took place in 1980 and since then has been held biennially. The race has grown to attract a record 64 entrants from all over the world.

DOSC and Wicklow Sailing Club are both organisers of RORC recognised offshore races.

Dubai Offshore Sailing Club organise the Dubai to Muscat Yacht Race. The race is 360 NM with the course taking boats from the relatively shallow waters of the Arabian Gulf, passing through the famous Strait of Hormuz, and into the deep waters of the Indian Ocean, with the final leg taking a south easterly route across the Gulf to Muscat, the capital city of the Sultanate of Oman. The race was first held in 1992 and has taken place annually since with only a few exceptions.

As the construction is ongoing around DOSC, we have a unique opportunity to adopt one of our resident cats that have been displaced - we’re concerned for their wellbeing and want them to live the best life they can, so if you’d like to adopt a DOSC kitty don’t hesitate to get in touch! All our cats are neutered, vaccinated, and regularly checked on by our local vets.

The Notice of Race is now live for the 2026 Kidzink Pearl Cup! 🏆

From 1–6 December, young sailors from around the world will head to Dubai Offshore Sailing Club for a week of coaching, racing and unforgettable memories on and off the water.

Whether you're racing in the Optimist, ILCA or 29er fleets, or joining the coached Optimist or Feva fleets, the Pearl Cup offers the perfect mix of high-quality racing, expert coaching and a welcoming international atmosphere.

The team’s working hard to prepare everything for the new season, but we still have lots happening this month too! The Top Quiz is on every Tuesday, keelboat pursuit racing every Wednesday and Saturday, and some great specials + combo offers if you want a drink too!

Don’t forget to get yourself or your kids booked into the Sailing Centre, which is opening for the season on September 5 with a new term of Learn to Sail, plus a variety of adult courses for all abilities, on both dinghies and yachts!
