Liked seeing one of my favourite quotes on my first day! 🎾

That’s it! My final day
⠀
Thank you to Mr Laurent for giving the opportunity for us to build something special together these last 3 years. I wish you continued success for the future!
⠀
Thank you Khun Phung and Khun Jeab for all your help on so many occasions (definitely for putting up with me;)
⠀
Thanks to all the parents for your fantastic support.. especially those who took a chance with me at the beginning and stayed to the end!
⠀
Most of all, BIG thanks to the hundreds of kids I’ve had the opportunity to coach at BCIS. You keep me feeling young. You’ve ALWAYS been the reason I love what I do, and I will miss you all so much!!

Tennis Trolls 😈

I’ve really enjoyed working with these two, together with the third member of their little gang: Verushka!

I’ll miss them when I’ve gone. Wishing them all the very best of luck for the future, on and off the court !!!

🎾🎾🎾🎾

Ella and Alecia always want to stay on after the session and play me. So the challenge I set them, as a team, is to win 2 of every 3 points... If you can get your points average up over 60% you have a chance right?
⠀
When we started these live-point drills, the girls did well to get to 10 points.... now I’m seeing a real game IQ build as they learn to discover my strengths & weaknesses and use tactics (usually to exploit an increasingly tired coach!;)
⠀
The girls can now move into the 15-18 point range now which is fantastic... however with more confidence now the trash talking has started 😆

🎾🎾🎾🎾

Points based drill:

• 30 balls -
Coach feed then keeps ball in play. To allow the players time to decide & develop their individual tactics, the coach plays passively* (*poor shots / short balls will be punished)

• Target 20 points (win 2 out of 3 average)
⠀
• Double points for a completed skill we practiced earlier
⠀
•Quick pause to talk tactics after ‘good’ or ‘bad’ points

Simple Forehand Drills.
⠀
Ella was recently off school for a few months so this midterm break she’s dedicated herself to waking up early, coming to school and getting her conditioning back + work out a few forehand hitches (racket take back & open stance). Well done Ella! 💪🎾
⠀
After our warm up.. the forehand session:
⠀
1. Hand Feed (slow to mid pace feed)
10 x 6 balls - to targets. 15min
⠀
2. Racket Feed (mid pace feed)
6 x 10/12 balls - to targets 15min
⠀
3. Topspin Feed (faster/heavy spin) 6 x 10/12 balls - to targets 15min
⠀
4. Forehand Sparring (mid pace.. she’s done in by now;) 30min

Enjoy Training 💪🎾

Drills are hard in the heat.. Especially for younger players. We start slow and step up the pace with plenty of water (and shade) breaks. Work hard performing drills, but always keep it fun (with juggling or Moonwalking;))🤩
⠀
Forehand: Defense & Attack
⠀
1. Forehand Attack. Hand feed.
8 x 6 balls
⠀
2. Racket Head Speed (Swing Volley Drill)
5 x 6 balls
⠀
3. Defense-Attack ‘Half X’
6 x 8 balls
⠀
4. Beat the Wall (pass the coach) Game
60 balls
