🚨🚨Jorge Messi, the father of Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi, has died at the age of 68, according to several Argentine media reports.

Jorge Messi reportedly died on Friday night at around 10 pm local time in a hospital in his hometown of Rosario, after battling a complex heart and neurological illness.

He was the father of Lionel Messi, one of the most celebrated footballers in the world, as well as Rodrigo, Matías and María Sol.

Jorge played a significant role in Lionel Messi's remarkable football journey. Aside from being his father, he served as a guide and managed many of his son's responsibilities away from the pitch as Lionel developed into one of the greatest players in football history.

Jorge Messi's contribution to his son's career extended outside the football field, where his guidance and support remained an important part of Lionel's journey from Rosario to global football stardom.

He is survived by his wife, Celia Cuccittini, and their four children.
