Two UAE national tankers, Mombasa and Al Bahiyah, were struck by Iranian cruise missiles while passing through the Strait of Hormuz in Omani waters, according to UAE authorities.

The attack killed one Indian crew member and injured eight others, while fires and damage were reported on both vessels. The UAE condemned the strike as a serious violation of international law and said it reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect its interests and strategic assets.

Cars left neglected in public spaces may be flagged as abandoned, removed by authorities and taken to an impound yard. Owners could face a Dh500 fine, along with towing and storage charges.

Officials also advised residents to keep vehicles maintained, cleaned and parked in secure designated areas while travelling.

The UAE residents woke up to a missile alert once again on Sunday, July 12 2026 as the Ministry of Defence and the Emergency Authority (NCEMA) issued the familiar warning ⚠️ message on mobile phones across the country at about 6.30 am.

The alert advised citizens and residents to find a safe shelter as the authorities responded to missile attacks. As per reports, Jets were heard patrolling the skies as the alert was sounded.

The last recorded attack on the UAE was on May 17 2026 when the Barakah Nuclear Plant was attacked sparking worldwide outrage.

Parking at Dubai’s City Walk just got easier.

Visitors can now enjoy a new barrierless, ticketless parking system, eliminating the need for physical tickets. The first hour of parking at City Walk is free, after which a fee of Dh5 per hour applies and is automatically charged through Parkin.

At The Boulevard, parking is free for the first 30 minutes, with charges applying thereafter. Shoppers spending Dh50 or more at participating outlets can also receive up to three hours of free parking after validation.
